Really hate coming across too dumb, but I am having trouble figuring out if there is any "automated" way to post a CCD (generated at the end of a visit) or instructions, for a patient to the UpDox portal without having to manually choose the patient in UpDox.
Something along the lines of sending an blast email.
We can get the file(s) to the updox auto-import folder and into Updox, but since there is an interface between UpDox and AC, you'd think it might be automated. grin

That would be a nice feature Roger if it existed.

My understanding is that this is a long-standing request, and has been limited by AC. Now that AC is running to hit MU2 which requires patient portal integration, users may actually get something out of meaningless use that they can use.

It is my understanding that a patient portal is required for 2014 even if still in stage 1. Is that correct?

My understanding is that is correct, part of Stage 1Plus as the call it, but I'm easily confused.

You might want to give some thought to looking at AutoHotKey AHK
This would be pretty easy to do.

My thoughts exactly. I have several Ahk scripts running already that automate some other tasks. For me.

AC's own patient portal would be good. Who better to add the functionality than the ones who know the code.

AC has acknowledged that they are integrating with Updox to deliver Updox "Lite' as part of their MU2 compliance.

So AC will handle the portion of their code that talks to the Updox platform, and Updox will make the Patient Portal portion of their service available.

Particularly good news for folks are already using Updox - better integration.

Great news. If it's bundled with the yearly support fee, that would be even better considering the recent price increase.

AC has now put up some new info about the patient portal on the website. It's not much but it's a step in the right direction. They are now accepting registrations for the portal. Amazing Charts Patient Portal

Hmmm. Hard to tell what to do if you are already an Updox user.

The AC portal will be a basic portal - the forms, faxes, etc that Updox offers most likely will not be included in the free version. If you use the Updox for document management then you should continue with the paid version. Updox has many cool features for those people who utilize the document management and a few users here who use the forms for patients love them.
