I am interested in getting EZ claims. I have done a search on this site and did not find much current information. The following questions I cannot find an answer for.
1. There is mention about a one way transfer of data from AC to ezclaims. When I go to the available data transfer programs on AC website there is no mention of Ezclaim. Is it under another name? 2. Can anybody that has used EZclaim give a thumbs up or down?

We have been using EZclaims for about 6 years. It comes with an Import / Export Utility that can pull data from billing file created by AC. If you are looking for a simple billing software, EZclaims is the answer. It lets you print and mail bills, post payments and send simple statements to patients. Electronic billing and auto posting features cost extra. Installation and configuration is fairly simple and we have not had technical issues. Good luck!

I too can vouch for them. I use their Cloud service and simply upload a week of claims from AC each Friday. They have quick claim scrubbing and their clearinghouse is straightforward.
We probably spend a max of 2 hours per week total on billing after starting with them, so efficiency has improved.

I've been using EZ claims for last 6 years. Billing information is exported from AC and then imported to EZ claims using Import/Export wizard (provided by EZ claims). I send claims electronically through their clearinghouse and reports come back also electronically for posting. They charge about $100 monthly for this service. I am in solo internal medicine practice.

Just to piggyback onto this discussion, just what does the 100/month get you?
Do you get all the secondaries and paper claims sent out?
Also, did you pay AC the $500 for the interface, or do you just keep the two separate, and let EZClaims import the claim file and go on?
Oh yes, and do you know which clearinghouse they use? Is it a friendly interface?
Thanks Asutosh Sharda

I do not know about the clearinghouse part of the question, but the importing is done by exporting claims data from AC and importing the claims data into EZClaim. EZClaim has the capability to accept imported claims data from AC. There is no automatic interface. You do not purchase anything from AC so there is no $500 cost. At the end of the day(when you are finished with your notes and have attached procedure codes and charges when you have signed off on the charts) you export the claims data from that day or any date range into a file that you import into EZClaim. One still has to adjust and "tweek" the charges in EZClaim after the import before you either print CMS 1500 forms or send to clearing house.(the charges/procedure codes generated by AC are still with problems).

I use EZ Claims Advanced software and in this setup they charge $100/month for unlimited electronic claims submission through their clearinghouse Capario. This fee also covers unlimited support and software updates. You can send secondary claims electronically for Medicare, Blue Cross and Medicaid. Paper claims are extra per claim but I don't use this service and I don't know how much they charge. Interface is very friendly and simple. Initial setup requires some time but overall I am very pleased with them.

I have been doing the office's billing thru EZ Claims (cloud) here for the last few months. I'm trying to learn AC and this forum is answering many questions (as well as creating many other questions!). Am I understanding clearly that when the dr. uses AC, the billing information (CPT and DX codes) can be exported to the EZ Claims patient account, and then send on to the clearinghouse/insurances?
BTW We use Office Ally for the clearinghouse and not the clearinghouse that EZ Claims specifically offers. I know I'm not using all the options available, but I'm still learning what actually is offered out there for me!

After completing the note in AC and signing off the note you can correct the billing information in AC before importing the billing information into EZ Claims. The problem will be that you have to check to make sure the information is correct in EZ Claims after the information is imported. The above information was given to me by others on this board. I do not know how efficient the process is(how many corrections will need to be made after the information is imported into EZ Claims). I have just started to use EZ Claims and decided that the front desk will continue manually entering billing visit information into EZ Claims. I have not tried importing/exporting billing information yet. I still need to point out that the information given to me indicates that correcting the information in AC prior to exporting to EZ Claims is the way to go since AC's pulling of the procedure codes and attaching diagnosis codes is not that efficient. Hope the long explanation clarifies what the information I have received and others can add or clarify more.

You have to set up CPT codes with your charges in administration portion of AC. Also when signing the note I always pull the appropriate ICD codes from the list in AC. As long as this is done and is correct in AC this information along with patient demographics and insurance info can be exported to EZ Claims. I usually have to add only pointers and modifiers in EZ Claims before submitting the claim for electronic billing. To do it correctly you would have to train your practitioner with basics of the billing so they could put CPT codes in right sequence while signing the note. This is not that hard to learn and makes the whole process much easier.

Does anyone know what would happen if demographic info was put into EZ Claim and slightly different demographic information was added in AC, after the information is imported into EZ Claim. What does EZ Claim do with the slightly different demographic information?

There is an option in EZ Claims import wizard to have demographic and insurance information in EZ Claims updated to latest information in AC. I always use this option to have EZ Claims info current.

Hello All,
We have been using EZClaim for about six months. We use the new PREMIER version, rather than the ADVANCED 8. My biller who works for me part-time, is very happy with the program, which is even more important than my happiness with it. She says that it does some things better than E clinical Works, which she uses with some of her other clients. We use ZirMed for our clearinghouse, which is now one of the preferred clearinghouses with EZClaim. We've had no integration issues with AC>EZ>ZirMed.
Once a claim is sent to EZ (the patient gets established in the program), they have a single button which you can click to check eligibility, which apparently does so via the clearinghouse. Slick. Or you can use the ZirMed eligibility checking process to check eligibility on a patient who has not yet been seen, but that requires entering the patient's information into ZirMed.
This system of EZ>ZirMed also does electronic posting back into EZ if you would like to do so.
EZ and ZirMed have both been very responsive. EZ was quick to implement suggestions that my biller had. When AC started exporting in Unicode, EZClaim sent out updates to the software within about a week so that they could read the Unicode.
We would be completely paperless from AC>EZ>ZirMed with remittance posting to EZ but for one thing. AC will not export the information as to how a patient paid (cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, AMEX) to EZ,, nor apparently to any other billing software. Therefore, we still have to fax paper super bills every day off-site to my biller, with patient type information on each sheet. I am hoping that many members of this community will implore AC to do so. It seems that they will have to eventually, for integration with their billing software of choice, and would be useful for any of the billing software with which AC currently integrates. in the meantime, if anyone has a workaround suggestion, I would appreciate it.

Norm, My front desk staff writes how patient paid in the Payment Details window which is right under Copay and then this information is transferred to EZ claims as Reference 1. Payment amount is typed in the Copay in AC. I use Simple Text File option for export from AC to EZ Claims Advanced 8 BTW I always like to ski back bowls in Vail
