At the risk of irritating some members of the user board, I am going to ask if anyone else is having problems with UPDOX this afternoon. I lost my link for the status board. A search on Google could not find it. If you are offended by this post, please change the channel. Thank you.

The Updox status board is at http://status.updox.com/I am also unable to log onto Updox for the past hour. The following appears after the Java window disappears at startup: ![[Linked Image from ]](/ub/attachments/usergals/2013/08/full-636-506-updox_error.png)

When searching for something got messages that system failed and updox was automatically notified. The whole service went down and now we can't log in.

It is totally down for us. The status website: http://status.updox.com does not indicate a problem, so we have reported an issue.

I got logged in, but Updox and the connector are red, and I can't get the document issues.

I think that UPDOX has an evil twin, DOWNDOX. It is like Dr. Jekyll and Mister Hyde. I guess life has its ups and downs kind of like a certain part of the male anatomy. I just have to laugh when I look at the status report on UPDOX for the last couple of days. I look forward to the day when UPDOX and NEWCROP work as well as our local utilities and cell phone service. IT IS FRIDAY, thank God!! I hope we can make it through the day because it is going to be busy for me. It will be easier if UPDOX is working. :-)

IMHO, this is what happens when you cobble together fragmented pieces of software. UpDox, NewCrop, try to link a PM program, all of this creates problems. This is why an integrated solution would be helpful. AC tried with V7 to integrate PM, but it was not done well. Ideally, the long term solution would be a fully functional, integrated program with document management, patient portal, and PM, but maybe this is pie in the sky.
I don't use UpDox, and this reminds me that I am quite happy using my Brother multifunction machine and PaperPort. They are in my office, under my control, and have not failed me as yet.
For anyone who might want redundancy of systems for the UpDox outages, you might consider this arrangement. Multifunction machine was inexpensive and PaperPort comes with it for free. Once again, the famous quote from Wendell, "Did I mention that it was free?" And, I must always credit my hero, Leslie, for introducing me to this arrangement.

Donna, you have a good backup plan. However, for those of us who use UPDOX extensively, we have found it to be a very effective tool in our practice, cutting down ineffiencies by an exponential number. I am all for Amazing Charts trying to develop an integrated program. Maybe they could buy out UPDOX.

C'mon, would you really want to own Updox or AC, and have to deal with all of us?

Gene Actually I regularly deal with several folks here directly, that is part of why I contribute on the board; we've become friends and several have become clients.

Gene Interesting ... where have I heard this before? Based on the advice of some folks here, I'll quote them. "please PM me if you want to invest"

Donna, Thanks for the great idea, currently I have an old time fax machine as backup. I have heard Leslie mention this product before, but this might not only address redundancy when "Downdox" occurs, but may offset the cost of the e-faxing extra bundles one accrues if receiving all faxes exclusively through Updox. I will have to quiz you more on this in the future, and much appreciated.

I have really appreciated having this board available to check out all the recent Updox and NewCrop outages. It has saved me and my staff much time at troubleshooting.
