Is there a way to do that. I can't find a way to change the username. I usually put the first name of the user but my office manage used first initial and last name for a new hire. I would like to change it to just the first name. Anyway to do that?

I don't think you can. Just have to deactivate that user and add a new one.

Thanks. I was afraid that would be the answer. I think there should be a way to change the username...

To expand on that question... Is there a protocol for how the staff's name should appear in the record? Should it be by first name with last initial or first initial with last name or do we have options? In paper charts, the staff just initialed their work.

Yes, you only get one chance to set the user name when you first set up a user. Luckily for me, I realized this while I was trialing AC, before I set up our real database. So, I set up our users with our 3 letter initials, which is also how we sign messages. First names only seem too casual for a medical record to me. It is also unlikely that we will ever duplicate 3 letter sequences, so it will be easy to identify specific personnel.
