Hi Indy, JBS or Sandeep, could you tell me what the criteria are for removal of posted questions? yesterday I posted a question about HIPAA requirements which seems to have been instantly removed . Yet I see posts that have not been answered for many days or weeks Are topics such as HIPAA as relating to AC Taboo ? please clarify Bala

Fair question from what you have provided - don't know who/why it was removed.
I'll wait for the responsible individual else to weigh-in.

I guess I am in one of those smart [censored] moods, but I really wish I knew something about this area.
Basically, as Sandeep says, posts generally don't get deleted unless there is vulgarity, or spam or someone disagrees with me. The reality is any post can be deleted at any time but it wouldn't be for no reason. I delete a post maybe once every three months for being spam or if someone asks me too. Most deletions and editing of posts and threads are done by admins and global mods, basically I and Wendell. Moderators have some control over posts in the forums they are assigned to.
So, it is easy to narrow down who did what except there are 472,897 moderators and higher on the board.

Oh and the number one way to think your post is missing is when there were so many posts a new page was made so that you say 1..2 at the bottom. But, I haven't noticed that in a while. Please let me know if anyone sees that. I guess that is what happens when you have 472,897 mods. I guess another way a post gets deleted is when it is laced with sarcasm.

Now if you want to sell refrigerators or shoes or the like, we might elevate your posts to the highest possible level. However something about HIPAA and BAA, too many acronyms. Just drifted to the bottom of the posts. There are a couple of ways to look for new posts. I personally look at the side screen, but once upon a time I used to look at the forum topics for new posts. You are less likely to miss a new post if you go through the forum headings, but it's faster to use the side headings. You need to look to see how old the bottom one is, however.

I agree with Wendell on the side screen. Best thing that ever happened to the board.
No one would EVER remove your posts from the board.
The best way to deal with this is to find your name on a post at the top left. Left click on it, then select View Posts. This will show you all of your posts from ascending to descending. Find the post in question and click on it. It should bring you to your post. If it has been deleted, you will know.
If you think it has been deleted, I would PM me. I can check the logs and see who, what, and when has happened.
