hi, I just switched to version 6.3.3. A strange thing happens when I use the prescription writer. When I click on a codified med to refill it, when it shows up on the right hand side script writer it becomes uncodified and shows in yellow, or in italics as uncodified and it is a pain to type in the med again and remove the uncodified med. anyone know why this happens ? thanks Bala

Are you sure the meds on the left are codified? The non-codified meds are in Italic. Clicking on these shows a yellow hilighted med on the right. I've had to go through and change my non-codified meds. If they truly are codified meds, I have no idea why they would change.

This will happen on a few meds which have changed names in their official codified names since last prescribed - This happened with some inhalers, I believe a ventolin HFA, PROAIR, I think a promethazine DM and a few more. This is because official names have changed, etc. You will have to delete the old med and then rewrite scrip and send new - or just go and send non codified scrips and then go back and right click/codify the scrip - it is a pain but will go away after you do this on that pt. chart.

thanks all. The strange thing is that there is no change to these meds e.g fluticasone nasal spray 50 mcg generic has always been codified and is generic and there is no change in it but still shows up in yellow when I click on it to bring it to the script writer and I have noticed it in other generics also.Iam re entering them but it is a pain . If you were able to look very closely - usually the old codified fluticasone nasal spray has been changed and it may be something as minimal as 50 mcg/ml vs 50 mcg/ 1 ml and that makes you recodify it.

here is what happens currently- I click on a codifed med on the left hand side to prescribe it , but when it comes up on the script writer on the right hand side, it is now yellow and uncodified and I have to go back and delete it and start all over again typing it . It it was truly uncodified shouldnt it show up in italics on both sides ? This must be a bug in version 6.3.3 Bala

I think the issue may be that many of the steroids (creams, nasal sprays, etc) in 6.3.3 come up that you have to "attest" that it is not a controlled substance. Very annoying. But then it no longer looks codified in the med list.
