Hello,
I just ordered the Midmark IQecg for our practice ... our current EKG machine is on its last leg ... or should I say, lead. I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with the IQecg and its interfacing with AC? Can it really be run without purchasing the IQmanager software, or is that necessary? It should arrive in roughly a week, and I'd like to hit the ground running, so any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Dean

We purchased one several months ago and it has been working great. You just need to install the AC interface and then you do everything from within AC. Results go right into Imported items for Provider to sign. I use thin clients in the room so we would have had to purchase additional licenses to run on those but we currently have it connected to a laptop in one of our procedure rooms but it could be moved to a patient room with laptop if needed. No additional software needed.

We have one too and I love it. The only thing is that the software needs to be installed on all the PC's you will use to review the EKG.

Hi Marty,
When you say that the software will need to be installed on all computers used to review the reports, are you referring to Amazing Charts, or some other program? Their website makes it sound like you only need the "standalone" program if you don't have an EHR.
Thanks, Dean

Hi Dean,
The interface software is installed on a PC that has Amazing Charts already on it. In order to view the EKG's, the interface software has to be installed on each PC that has AC on it (no extra fees for that).
I found that out because initially I only installed the software on one PC. But from my office, I couldn't see the EKG results. So I ended up installing the software on all the PC's in our office in order for each PC to be able to view them.
Alternatively, you could just print from the PC that you installed the integration software on. But then you would have to scan in the EKG's as a PDF in order for everyone else to view them.
Hope that explanation wasn't too confusing

If you have updox, you don't need to install iqecg interface. I use laptop with midmark software to do ekg. Then print to updox printer and import to patient's chart. By that way, I don't need to buy midmark interface.

Got an IQecg today. Installed the Amazing Charts/Midmark interface on all comptuers. Works ok on the one 32 bit Windows 7 Pro. Does not work on the 64 bit Window 7 Pro machines. No driver is found for the IQecg unit when I plug it into the 64 bit computers USB port. I contacted Amazing Charts and they suggested I contact Midmark for 64 bit driver. Anybody else face a similar problem or have advice regarding this? I did not buy the stand alone Midmark software. Thanks.

If you can't find the driver, I would just run the EKG's on the machines that are 32 bit, print out the results and scan them into the IMPORTED ITEMS folder (Much like what Thuya does). At least that way you can look at the results on all the machines.

you may have to call mIdmark. When I first got 64 bit machines, I had to call them and they emailed the driver to me.

OK, all is working with the midmark IQecg on my 64 bit Win 7 Pro machines. Indeed the 64 bit machines needed the 64 bit drivers, which were not included in the amazing charts install package. I called midmark. The drivers are on the midmark website, but not on the IQecg product page (like when you need a driver for a printer you goto the manufact website and pull up the product and there is a tab for drivers). The drivers are at midmark.com / drivers . I will email amazing charts that they may want to consider putting the drivers in the package, or at least have a note on the interface page telling people that they will need to get the drivers.
