HI All,
I need a little help here with this issue. I have 7 Amazing Charts clients on version 6.3.3 One of them is telling me and I have seen it happening that they work on a chart and then send (forward) to their inbox. After 5 to 15 minutes the chart moves from inbox to the deleted items.
They are on Windows 2003 domain, all of the workstations are time synced to the domain server. The doctor is logged in to multiple computers (one computer in each exam room)at the same time. I have other clients on same network set up and they are not experiencing this issue.
Can you shed any light on resolving this problem? I would be so grateful.

I think this is happening with one of our providers possibly as well.

John,
Strange.
1. Can you tell us what that doctor does right after the chart is forwarded to his/her inbox? As in works on another chart, sends a message, whatever.
2. Someone may know the answer on here. But, if it were happening to me, I would contact support, so they can remote in and see what is the deal.

I can tell you what I have figured out after this happened to me multiple times. My instances occured primarily when I had done an electronic refill and then went to delete the refill request message from the inbox. If I did not refresh the inbox first, by clicking the open envelope symbol in the upper right hand corner, and instead clicked on the message to delete and clicked the delete button, the very first message in the inbox would be deleted instead. Therefore, I would recommend that everyone always refresh the inbox before deleting any messages. It is dangerous to have AC open under one user on multiple computers unless you absolutely, always refresh the inbox when dealing with the charts. The same thing goes for refreshing UPDOX before doing anything if there is more than one user working with UPDOX.

Thanks Mel,
First, I don't see why refills need to go to the inbox anyway. And, thanks for explaining that. Fortunately, my MA does all of those.
I do though have AC open on four computers, and I couldn't wait for it to open each time I switched. I suppose refreshing the inbox would be a much better option, but I have not found that to be an issue unless if I were deleting refill records and losing charts to the deleted items. Well...they are still there for the moment.

Since I do not know how your office operates, I can only speak to mine. I have two nurses and a secretary. All of them are constantly sending messages, forwarding charts, importing items from UPDOX, etc. I will leave my AC open at times in my office and then go to the exam room. If I do not complete the note in the exam room, as is often the case with my comnplex elderly patients, I will forward the chart to myself. If I go back to my office and do not refresh the inbox or sign out and log back in, I will accidentally click on the chart initially forwarded to me by the nurse checking in the patient after she completes the vital signs, etc. That really screws things up if I do not catch it and start dictating into that chart instead of the one I forwarded. Believe me, it is easy to do when you are in a hurry and did not refresh the inbox. All I can do is encourage whoever reads this post to refresh, refresh, refresh (now it sounds like a soda pop commercial). There are new users all the time who can use pointers from those of us who have had to learn things the hard way. I appreciate all the stuff I have learned from you over the past year, as well as from the other members who post.

Oh, I wasn't saying I didn't learn from you. But, that is a bug and should be fixed in the next version.
The other issue which is now causing you problems is the fact that we have to manually refresh rather than its auto-refreshing.

I agree with the automatic refreshing. Is that on the list of 84?

Yes, right after MU3, CCHIT 37 and Pri-Med 1. I am just frustrated.

As you may be aware we are beta testing 6.5.2 and one of the new features is that the Tech/Ma can go into a part of the chart and enter the vitals and then forward the chart to the provider. The problem is that the REFRESH problem is STILL not fixed and if the provider doesn't refresh, he/she doesn't know the patient is waiting. I mentioned this to the beta tester fixer people and the response was "this doesn't happen to EVERYONE" Unless someone else on the board has seen this resolved, I told them "NO WAY IS IT FIXED".

As far as I have seen, it has never refreshed, which I find a medicolegal issue. It's crazy. This HAS to autorefresh. Ask him to show you his version that does.

In these situations, ask to speak to a developer and not support. There is a huge difference, and developers want the code to be perfect. Support just helps you with what is already there.
A good support tech will tell you I will talk to a developer and have him/her call you back.

Dear John,
This issue needs to be reviewed by our support staff. We need the practice name so we can call to troubleshoot the problem. Please either email me at crich@amazingcharts.com or call our support line.
I really want to see what we can do to fix the problem.

so how do you recover an active, incomplete chart that gets dumped into the deleted message category?

seems like a dead-end without any way to undo the status of the deleted items

The chart is truly dead if you empty the deleted messages "box", otherwise you can recover deleted message, chart and all. one of the buttons below the list of deleted items.

Nephros is correct. Just to be specific so you don't hit remove all.
Go to Deleted Items | Highlight chart you want back | Click on Retrieve Message | You can click on Inbox in the drop down list, but easier to click on Messages at top left.
Just don't click on Remove All.

I could not see the "Retrieve Message" button at the bottom of the page - my focus was on the upper portion of the screen, wondering why there was no "undo" button anywhere in the command line up top ...
but I see it now - old dog learns new trick ... ha ha ha
maybe that button should look more prominent when active - the grey parts of the active page seem to blend together, and the Retrieve button should be next to the Remove All button so that you immediately see an option for undoing a delete
