Gene, Because of the before-mentioned relatives and clients that we have in western PA, we will be through to collect the Iron City in person. Fair warning, I'm not bringing any tools since they are considered weapons by the TSA. You never know, if the timing is right we might get Wendell swing by since he is a Subbie pro.

Gene, I would like to have Lori pick up my share, and I will get it from her. Please don't get Indy involved as I would prefer the cans to be unopened and full when I receive them.

I highly recommend bottles over cans!!!! In the good old days you could return the bottles and get a little cash back.

JBS, You cut me to the quick! But rather than be small and take offense, you have inspired me. How about this for a plan - I get the case from Gene, and Lori and I bring it to Baltiy-more. We rent a sailboat, take the case, get Gino, Donna, Bev, and anyone else game, and we have an afloat user group meeting. Been a few years, but I can probably still sail us into the Annapolis harbor, dinner on the waterfront, and then back. Might have to make Gino the designated driver; you know what they say about sailors.

Indy, This sounds like fun to me, except I'll bring some wine, or a tropical cocktail!

All this from kitchen cabinets.
I think we will have to add a new category to our website - RoadShow Meetups. Sailing down to Annapolis for a day definitely fits meaningful use in my book; especially if we talk about Imported Items.

Indy, We'll look forward to seeing you in Baltimore. Buffet it is with the cocktails. And you men remember to wear your Hawaiian shirts.
It is quite remarkable the twists and turn this thread has taken, the most interesting thing on the Board in some time!

How about this for a plan - I get the case from Gene, and Lori and I bring it to Baltiy-more. Indy, Sorry. Iron City is not available for local pickup. Delivery only. There may be a small delivery fee (sailboat ride). I will ask Jon or Donna about the advisability of wearing a Steelers shirt for such an outing! Gene

I have no problem with you coming along, but two things: <1>Donna has already specified the dress code for the gents, Hawaiian shirt required, so the Steelers will have to go *underneath* <2>Inlanders will need to verify their ability to swim, wear life-vests or bring their own lifeguards

I was expecting a comment on the life expectancy (or lack thereof) of someone wearing Steelers garb in Baltimore! Gene

Gene Gene, My Dad was a life-long Steelers fan, so I have a bead on that - that is why I stressed the Steelers shirt go *underneath*. Besides, in the interests of safety and collegiality, I am planning on boarding at an un-disclosed location, NOT the downtown harbor where your safety would be at risk.

I am a bit envious the trip sounds great, and maybe one of these days I will get to meet you guys and gals in person.... But the Re-cert for ABIM on 4/23/13 has been quite time consuming and then have some time scheduled for the family this summer so they can have their dad/husband again in the evenings.
If and when, road kill from Montana perhaps...bear, elk, deer, or antelope steaks.

Wait...Indy your DAD was a Steeler's fan? That makes you a first degree fan relative. Will have to discuss with the group whether or not that disqualifies you from this expedition. Sailing skills and IT support may trump heredity though. Jimmie, the Maryland emu farm has fallen on hard times; bring the family east, bring the emu steaks (along with any animals you hit along the way) and we will show you a good time. Have you ever had softshell crabs? (Think of the biggest, tastiest fried spider you ever ate).

Steelers apparel is specifically excluded from the sailing expedition. There WILL be inspections prior to boarding.
We may not have emu, but we do have a local bison farm.
Do we have a projected date for this outing?

Back in the mid 80's I spent a few days in Baltimore in the summer. I think the blue crab was in season then and had some steamed and also in crab cakes, but not sure if that was a softshell crab. I recall it was great steamed with butter on it. Maybe one of these days.....but the wife and kids may not want to come back to the windy west.
