What ever happened to the "nightly" pharmacy updates? They are definitely not happening. There are multiple new medications on the market for a while now that do not show up in eRX.

They have to be robbed at least once to be considered an actual pharmacy. Sorry, I couldn't resist. We've added five in the past two months.

I think this just adds to the discussion about where AC needs to focus most now. Failure to update new meds, other eRx issues -- how long have we been asking to search pharmacies by telephone number?

Ryanjo, I agree. I happened to watch the video put out announcing that AC had linked up with Pri-Med, on the Pri-Med website, last night, when I was looking at the Pri-Med website. I would put a link in here but I do not know how to do it(Mario, where are you?)In the video, it was emphasized that AC wanted to find out what its clients thought was important and what their needs are. It was hoped that linking with Pri-Med would somehow help with determining our needs. Hello, have they thought about reading the user board or sending a survey? Itwould be a lot cheaper and real time as opposed to having to interview doctors at a conference somewhere. By the way, what significant changes for the good have occured since AC became a subsidiary of Pri-Med? I love AC and appreciate the people who have worked hard to get it to where it is but there are some simple fixes that need to be done sooner than later.

As you probably know from another post on the board, they did send a survey. However, it was all focused on new enhancements to AC such as a patient portal or quality reporting, not on fixing the multiple annoyances that plague us all but don't render the EMR unusable.

Hello all,
If you are experiencing an issue where you believe your Meds Database is not updating, please contact our Tech Support staff to troubleshoot the issue. If we do find there is a problem with the Meds Database updates we can work on getting the issue resolved.
Also as far as searching for a pharmacy by the telephone or fax number, you will see this feature in the upcoming version 6.5!
Thank you, Anthony@AC

Anthony,
How can we know if the Meds Database is updating or not? We need some sort of link to SureScripts to see what their list is. Otherwise, the only way we know if the drug is in the standardized data base is to open up the prescribing window and type it in. This can be a cumbersome task. If the drug is not in there, how are we to know when things change?

Hi Doctor Mel,
You can check for pharmacies and meds in the NewCrop screen. NewCrop actually sends the updates to our Meds Databases. From a patient's chart, open the Script Writer and click the ePrescribing button in the top left corner, then click Manage via NewCrop Screens. Under the Compose RX tab you can do a Drug Search for medications in the NewCrop Database. To search for a pharmacy, Click the Admin tab and then click the Location Pharmacy List link.
Thank you, Anthony@AC

Anthony,
Thanks for the reply. I found the drug search as described (I learn something new almost every day). I checked a new drug, Myrbetriq, and found it in the data base. When I tried to prescribe it in the script writer, however, I get a yellow box indicating that the drug is not codified. That is the problem I am having with newer medications. Their names are not recognized.

Anthony, Can you elaborate on this a little more... what is the connection between the NewCrop Database and our prescribing screen? For example, Linzess is a new GI medication. If I try to type it into the AC prescribing screen, it is not a codified medication. On the other hand, it is listed in the NewCrop Database. What does this tell me?

We have noticed an increasing number of medications that are not being updated and brought into the Amazing Charts database as well. The biggest one we are concerned about is Stribild. It was FDA approved on Aug. 27, 2012, and is still not in the Amazing Charts database. Also, the 800 mg formulation of Prezista has been out for over 4 months, and is still not in our system. Other missing medications I have noticed are Dymista, and Rectiv. I'm sure there are more. This creates issues with keeping medication lists updated, accurately prescribing medications, and being able to run interaction checks. Please let me know if the database is actually being updated. Thanks!

Just a friendly word to the wise.
This is how Obamacare is tracking doctors under their Meaningful Generic Use initiative.
