Hi. Potental new AC user. A little about myself. I'm a physical medicne and rehabilitation doctor, just started my practice about six months ago. My practice is 85% wound care, and 15% outpatient PM&R. Currently just paper charts for PM&R patients but dictate wound care patients. My practice is in the therapy part of the hospital so I'm renting space from them. My wife is my office manager, and front office person, although the hospital has front offfice for wound care patients. My plan is to start off using AC for my PM&R practice and at somepoint transition the wound care into AC as well. I've got plenty of questions, but will try to look through the forums before I ask. I do have one question to start off with. We currently outsource billing to a biling company, pretty pricey, even though it's a flat rate. My questions is what billing software are people using that easily works with AC?

Hi bridgesmd, Welcome to AC. I think you will find more than enough help here on the boards. Probably more than you will even ask for . Definitely take a look around at the different threads, but if time is an issue, don't hesitate to post. If your questions are in regard to networking and backups, i.e. best practice, you will probably get ten different answers from ten different users. But, the more the better, right? I can't help you with billing, but there are many on here who can.

Welcome to AC Land, bridgesmd. I am low-tech, myself. I use paper superbills, which I load into a laser printer and print with demographics from Amazing Charts. I then submit them to a private biller. Amazing Charts has features to help people at all technological levels! A lot of people have posted about Office Ally (which is cheap/free). You could probably search for "office ally" on this website and dig up some good stuff. Click on "Search" above. Search for "billing", or "office ally" or whatever. Set the date range for newer than 1 year. You will find lots of good threads on this topic. We are all waiting to find out what's up with the upcoming update of Amazing Charts (due within the next couple of months). Some say there is billing and practice management goodness on the way!

Welcome to AC. I'm a new user myself, but finding it very easy and intuitive. I go live in a few days or a week or so. You will like AC. Especially in your type of practice where you will have a few common procedures or a few common "types" of appointments, you will be able to template these and create quick documentation.
Billing: I use Emedware by Sage, have been using it for 2.5 yrs prior to AC, therefore don't want the hassel of converting over to AC for billing. I employ a biller full time and do everything in-house.
hope you find the program useful, easy, and enjoyable.

Thanks for replying. Right now I'm importing patients into the system as I see them, and printing out the notes. so far I like the system. Can't wait to see what happens with the upcoming update with billing and PM software.

I would like to know how it goes. If you encounter any problems, please instant message me through Ac. I like to know if you have any issues.
