Hi all,
Is it possible to indicate in a note who is the referring provider?
Secondly, can AC make the referring provider part of the printed letter given to the patient when they leave the office?

Hey there.
So my desk staff puts in the referring provicer in my plan as a "CC: Dr. X" so i know the referring provider and the PCP.
when you write a letter you can write a letter to the referring provider and print it out.

If you can address your fax electronically, or you have Updox.
You print to PDF, or the fax machine itself, or your local Updox printer, and save killing a tree.
The indirect answer is it depends on how you are hooked up to your fax machine.

But, you can edit your signature area and put it below it and skip one line. Just have to remember to take it out, because you can't see it below the margin. @Steavaz As far as faxing without printing, this is easy. You can use UpDox, although I am not familiar with it, but you should have a fax server on your network so you can fax from any desktop.

Steve, As indicated by Indy and Bert, the answer to your question is "yes" and there are many ways to accomplish it. Obviously, skipping the paper creates a big time savings for you and/or your staff, and it is satisfying to know that when you sign off on the note, it is immediately appearing in the office of the referring doc. The answer really gets to the bigger question of how you are dealing with paper and faxes in your office. If the posts above resolve your issue, that is great. If not, feel free to tell us more about how you do things now and we can discuss how others deal with "going paperless".
