There seems to be a much higher percentage of users answering a question and then asking the asker to PM them. While there is a place for this (a long, complex explanation and walk through of a technical process), for them most part if the asker accepts the PM, the thread and, therefore, the learning for all other users is essentially over.

I am not sure how others feel, but I think it is best if most of the posts, comments, questions and answers are kept on the open forum. I am in quite a few user boards, and this is the only one that uses the PM to answer questions. In fact, in most, it isn't even allowed.

Hi Bert,

I agree. If the answer is too complex, I just skip it.

Indy,

You have to admit, Maxwell Smart's shoephone led directly to the modern cellphone. Without that, we would all still be corded.

Get Smart. A classic TV show. They had cell phones way back when.

See this is why we should PM. Had I been PMing with Indy, Gene would not have gotten the jump on me like that.

My first cell phone of 20+ years ago was so big it had a carry handle and a mounting bracket in the truck.

A shoe would be smaller; my phone doesn't smell though.

Agent 99 was my favorite part of the show! Besides the Brooks/Henry humor. Should have been a PM--TMI
