when our staff needs to put any comment in an appointment schedule in front of a patient's appointment, it shows up as a chief complain in patient's chart note. For example, if the MA puts a comment as 'needs Authorization for the visit', it shows as a chief complain in patient's chart. Any work around?

Thanks

Ever hear the expression, "that's not a bug...it's a feature?"
I think the scheduler is designed that way: the comment is often used as a place for the scheduler to tell the provider the reason for the appointment. That often may become the chief complaint. Of course the provider can easily change that upon opening the note.

I suppose a workaround would be to put that information elsewhere; most likely in the yellow pop-up in the patient's demographics. When the patient is selected, that will show on the bottom left of the main screen.
