Has anyone tried this yet? How exactly does this work? We click the CCD, fill out the HIPAA form and export from A.C. to a file on our computer, then attach that to an email to send to another provider? Is this right? Tried the webinar on this and he didn't know.

I would appreciate it if anyone who has successfully done the Core 14 measure please outline the steps involved. Do I select a local physician to send the data to?

In reports, the MU wizard describes how to pull up the appropriate info that needs to be sent. You can make a fake patient to send their info. Get the email of another physician, and send the info via secure email. When NJ-HITEC was at my office, they chose to download a free trial version of ZIXMAIL from ZIXCORP. I wanted to use my UPDOX but they were not familiar with it. Then you need to take a screenshot of the secure email that you are sending and save that as evidence that you did it. Then have the physician respond by email that he received it and save a screenshot of that. DONE!

If anyone using Updox wants to send me a "fake patient email" to fulfill Core 14, I will send you back a confirmation. My updox email is ryanjo AT myupdox.com (replace AT with @ before sending.)

Is it really necessary to set up and follow through with a fake email send..

states: Capability to exchange key clinical information (for example, problem list, medication list, medication allergies, and diagnostic test results), among providers of care and patient authorized entities electronically.

I read "capability". Once the file is saved on the desktop the ability is exhibited... just have to find a system to send it...
