Hi,
some insurance companies are requesting SOAP notes or encounters for a particular date range--rather than print these out one at a time, is there an easier way ? Can I use the Print note/letter program to do this but somehow specify a date range ?

Thanks,

Go to "Past Encounters" and select the "All encounters" radio button at the top left, and complete the desired date range below that.

OK, so I did that and I cannot print the displayed list of encounters, messages and addenda without selecting & printing each one individually. If I use the upper left print chart-it prints out the entire chart not just the encounters in the date range that I chose (and that are displayed on the right hand side). Is there a way around this? (all though using the date range option is better than trying to sort thru all encounters to get to the ones to print -- individually.

ps I also tried selecting multiple encounters displayed in the right hand window using the control and shift arrow windows methods to no avail.

pss I guess what I am looking for is a way to select multiple encounters, messages, addenda in a given date range and print them with something like Ctr+P (windows intuitive)

From main screen:
Select patient name
Click on "Patient" (Fourth item over in gray bar at top.
Click on "Print -> Encounters/Notes by Date Range"

Main AC Screen - Patient - Print - Encounters/notes by date range... try that.

I use this to send last 2 years notes, etc - still a pain to do imported items.

Hopefully you are GREEN printing them to PDF or to fax directly to their fax machine. I like sending them 100 page faxes. It does block up our fax machine but I'd rather have them pay ink and paper costs.

To print only the range needed I go to patients, pull visit history, past encounters,on left you can filter by assessment and plan only this eliminates the messages. Print on top right allows you to view the pages before printing. Print only the pages with the info needed. So instead of 22 pages you can print pg 1-4.
Imported items allows you to go to view and print all items. AC displays all items individually and you can print, fax or delete as needed.

Whenever I try to print as Linda describes above, the output is unreadable. Here is a screen shot:

I am using 6.0.10. Anyone else have this issue?

So what's wrong with that, Donna? It saves paper.
With V6.3.3 it works fine for us.

Because of the printing issues that Dinosaur points out, the method described by Bill and Steven might be the best way to go.

You're right, Jon!
I'll be sure to send the notes this way for our next mutual patient. grin

I haven't bothered to upgrade because we don't really need this, and otherwise 6.0.10 meets our needs. Why invite the stress of upgrading? We'll all be upgrading soon enough with Version 7.
