Is there a way to run a report for the MU Core 7 Record Demographics? Our numerator is 308 and the denominator is 446....would like to find the patients where this information is not complete, without going through each patient one at a time. Thanks!

I don't know of any other way to do this; but there ought to be!
Let me start with what you probably already know...
Of the five pieces of data required for Core 7, two of them (gender and birth date) are needed to create a patient in AC in the first place. I think you can safely assume that these are not an issue.
At least one of the other three, language, race, and ethnicity, is likely what is missing.
AC will allow you to run reports on many different demographic criteria, but not on these three. I think this is a mistake, both from the standpoint of using MU and medical management. It would help to have the ability to run these reports to help achieve MU. It is also helpful information in certain clinical and practice management situations.
Bottom line: if AC is going to allow you to collect and quantify data, in my opinion, you should be able to run reports on it to put the data to use.

Yes, it would be nice to collect this info....we want to be able to correct what is wrong, so we get 100% right! I'll have to put this request in the Wish List forum! Thanks!

Hi wmadrs,

I have noticed the same thing. I have been absolutely compulsive about making sure that all of the demographic fields are filled in, but when I ran the report the percentage was only 57%. I started experimenting. When an encounter was completed, with all of the required demographic fields completed, the denominator would always increase, but the numerator might or might not increase. Really helpful, right?

So then I tried some encounters, where I manually reentered the birthdate and gender. Uniformly both the numerator and denominator increased.

My guess is that some of the older charts (we have used AC since 2005, v2) that carry the birthdate and gender forward, will populate the fields but will not be counted for MU. So, even though it is a nusiance, we are trying to manually reenter the birthdate and gender at each encounter (as well as completing the newer race/ethnicity/language.)

I hope some of the above makes sense.
