I am transitioning from Spring Charts to AC next week. My old EHR had the ability to track a patient from the point of entry into the office to the exam rooms to lab, and then to check out. This allowed me to see where all the patients were at all times from my laptop. No color coded flags were needed on doors and there was no need for my nurse to find me and say "the patient is ready".
How can I do this in AC? I have contacted the AC support and they don't have a solution.

Sanjay,
This cannot be done in AC and there is no viable workaround using AC.

Try having staff change the first part of the "Comment" on the appointment to the patient's status/location. E.g. ("Signed In" "Ready-Rm1" "Gone". This shows up on your A/C schedule. Ain't fancy, but it works.

I am considering using "Blue Note ".....http://www.bluenotesoftware.com/ to use while waiting for the function to appear on AC.
Anyone have experience with Blue Note?

I have been hoping for this for a long time! It would be great especially for a small office to see on AC where my patients are (front desk, WR, xray, lab, exam room #(insert number here), check out)....it would be great that when they come up with it, that i hope they would allow us to customize what we pick as the spots that we can signify where the patients are.

I brought up this issue a while ago, and was told by other members that it was not important... I think it is. My request was even much simpler -to be able to "confirm" patient arrivals. Was hoping this latest version would have it, but no such luck.

We have a system that tracks where the doctor is at any point in the work day. It's a yellow pop-up that says "BEHIND!" Dave FP

I use Epic EMR about 4 years ago and it has color flag besides patient's name such as green ( check in), blue ( patient ready to be seen by doctor), red ( test needed to be done by MA) etc etc. I don't know why AC thinks these are not important. It make a easy workflow for everybody in the office.
