Imported Items is a cumbersome feature which I know they are working on for improvement. I thought I would share our trick for organziing them which is to use a numbering system as part of your folder names such as; 01) REGISTRATION FORMS 02) TREATMENT PLANS and so on. You just have to remember to use zero for single digits so they fall into place correctly. I was able to customize UPDOX so the folder names are titled the same for easy importing from that system.
My question pertains to those items imported without the use of UPDOX. The system limits us to the folders on hand so they may only be edited or retitled after importing something. One may also use "other" and drag to the correct folder of course. Is it possible though to edit the items through the imported items data folder somehow and then copy and paste back into the system folder? I am guessing probably not but worth asking. Older patients who predate the new system of numbering folders have so many items and to drag them into new folders is such a laborious process. By the same token, leaving them to the standard folders for our office is messy and often so confusing users cannot readily find what they need.
Thanks for any input!

Christy, Can you explain what you mean by "the system folder"? As you note, it is a laborious process to create new folder names and edit items in II (since each change must be made on each individual chart.
