We are having an issue with our terminal server computer. We upgraded to version 6.3.2 and now some users are getting a random popup saying over a dozen errors have occured and it shuts amazing charts down and they lose whatever they are working on.
Anyone else with a terminal server have this problem? To top it off Amazing Charts told me they do not support terminal servers, so that leaves me high and dry. Is that written somewhere that AC will not support Terminal servers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS I have already tried uninstalling and freshly installing.
THanks!

Try using Revo to do a clean uninstall. http://www.revouninstaller.com/start_freeware_download.htmlYou need to put the Terminal Server in a special installation mode before you install any program. Option A: If you go in the Control Panel, choose Install Application on Terminal Server tool under Programs. Proceed with the install as you normally would. Option B: Open up the command prompt and type "change user /install" (w/o quotes). This puts the TS in installation mode. Install AC. Then once you are done. DO NOT forget to put the TS in back in execution mode by typing "change user /execute" in the command prompt. Note: Option A changes the modes automatically.

THanks! Sorry you are having problems. It would be helpful to know a couple of things. What computer is being used for the terminal server? What clients are connecting? Also, just curious, how and why are you using a terminal server. It is completely understandable that Amazing Charts would not support terminal server. They support AC and should support SQL issues. Terminal servers are a complete networking solution, one which I would not thing AC would support.

What computer is being used for the terminal server?
We are using a Dell Vostro i5 with 8GB memory and server 2008R2.
What clients are connecting?
Any employee that uses a laptop either onsite of off site uses the terminal server.
Also, just curious, how and why are you using a terminal server.
We see patients at quite a few nursing homes. The terminal server was used just to allow them to access EMR remotely. Also we have users with laptops that they take with them. The terminal server is used so i dont have to have them join the domain and when they leave their internet works fine.
Is there perhaps a better way? How do others handle remote access?
Thank you so much!

Why the Vostro instead of a PowerEdge?
This is a good use for the Terminal Server. Did that fix work?

We have a T110 II for the main server and the vostro was for the terminal server (use to be the server ). The fix for this issue oddly enough is to create a new user account copied off of one that has admin privileges. I have worked with support on it and that is the only fix right now. Very strange situation.

Well I don't know for sure if I did a full removal on this laptop. I have the same issue on my terminal server. Some users it likes others it doesn't. The only common thread is I think at admin level there hasn't been any bugs.

Did you use the installation mode when you set it up? The admin privileges issue often arises if the program wasn't installed in installation mode.

What OS are you using on the Dell Vostro? We are using a Dell Vostro i5 with 8GB memory and server 2008R2. The more info you give us, the more it seems like an improper install. I.e. the program was installed after user accounts were setup without installation mode. Which means the privileges didn't carry over. New admins are fine though.

If you are using Windows Server 2008 on your new server, why not turn on the role, and see if it works any better just as a trial. On SBS, it's on by default.

Wow thanks for all the willingness to help.
The server and terminal server were using SERVER 2008 R2. For version 6.3.2 i did not use the app install on the terminal server, but for version 6.3.3 i followed your (Sandeep) advice and used the App install. I even used the revo unistaller first.
I also am already using the Remote Desktop Services Role. Puzzling I know...
Thanks for all the help

We are using a Dell Vostro i5 with 8GB memory and server 2008R2. I think I was misunderstood. Or, possibly I don't understand. The only thing I know for sure now is there is a T110 with Server 2008 R2 and a Dell Vostro with Server 2008 R2 being used as a TS. My only suggestion as a trial would be to turn on the Remote Desktop Services role on the server OS (which at the moment has no reason to be on, correct?) and see if it works that way. Also, keep in mind, that there have been times I have received that same error, which had nothing to do with a TS. Haven't seen it in months.

Did you use the advanced mode to uninstall AC? Is your T110 set up with Active Directory or are you using P2P?
Mind if I remote in and check things out?

I believe the issue was resolved. Haven't heard anything yet. I'm not going to post the fix because missing one step could cause your server to become unusable.
