I am in solo practice in North Carolina and have been with Amazing Charts for almost a year. I am very happy with the EMR side of things but unfortunately am very unhappy with the billing side. I went with Amazing Charts Billing having no idea that the billing was actually done by another company (Sure Data). This experience so far has pretty much been a nightmare and I need advice as to what to do. We have probably had 20 different people assigned to us over the past year and no one really has a clue about what is going on. They keep promising us that things will be fixed and the problems continue. When I was getting signed up with them, they would return my calls and this no longer happens so I have given up calling. I actually have patients calling my office asking if they can send me a check because they know that I must need the money - they have not received a bill from us and it has been months. Sure Data went for months without sending out any bills and we realized that our patients were not going to get what they were sending out because their computers were leaving off our state or their street address or some other crucial info. This took months to correct and I am not sure if it has ever been corrected. I talk to patients every week who have yet to receive a bill from us all year!! I would really like to have everything under Amazing Charts and I want to take over the billing in my office. I hate not knowing what is going on and living at the mercy of another company. I know that it will be more costly but this situation is not working and I am struggling financially. I have over $100,000 out in A/R and this is killing me. It is my understanding that Amazing Charts PM product will not be ready for another year. I can not wait that long and need to do something NOW! I am not going to renew with Sure Data so I have to find another way to do my billing. I am looking into the EZ Claims system. I really need some advice about what to do and would appreciate any input that I can get. Thanks for your help!!!

I am a solo provider too. I just signed up with http://www.mtbc.com I have heard very good references about this company from different people using Amazing Charts. It is too early to say about collections, but so far I am very satisfied. I export superbills directly to MTBC. In less than 48 hours all claims submitted appers on secure MTBC website. I get daily online notifications of any deficiencies or corrections needed to process the claims, and I make corrections online. I can monitor status of each claim online.

After bouncing between 2 different billing companies and trying in-house, I also have settled with MTBC. I am pleased with their asp system, and collections have been higher than ever. I did the 4% plan and feel it is a great value.

I also signed up with MTBC, and thus far am less than pleased. Part of the problem is that they have someone new talk with me everytime there is a problem. When I ask for a specific person, I still get someone else. Usually they want to have someone call me (when I'm with patients!), yet I don't always hear from someone and end of making several calls.
Though I worked with both AC and MTBC to try and get my billings exported, they still don't seem to get it right and people who have paid are still showing up as owing money. No one seems to understand this. And yes...before the bills are exported, I make sure that the totals are correct(copays, selfpays and adjustments are shown on the superbill).
After two months, only a few companies have been billed. The only monies I have received is what we collect at the window.
I did sign a 6 month contract, but unless things turn around dramatically, I will not be renewing and am currently looking for other options.
I know others have had a great relationship with them and have found this company a good one to work with (yes, I checked references), yet our experience has not been the same. I do know we are their first account in our state...don't know if that makes a difference.

We did have a few problems with payments such as copays being recognized through the upload. Now we write all the payments in the comments section of the schedule. So next to a persons visit, it may read "paid 10.00". This is also nice with the binocular feature on AC I can see a list of all a patients payments quickly and conveniently. Then we send the schedule daily to MTBC and have them confirm all patients seen have bills exported to them. So they will tell us the next day "John Doe on schedule, but bill not present". Then they also confirm all the payments. As far as communications, I have two sugestions. One, I only email with them. Then there is no phone tag. The whole MTBC team gets cc'd too, so everyone is on the same page. Second, set up a shared folder with www.foldershare.com , that way all the eob's, daily billing files, schedule copies, or even AC database copies, are on a shared folder and it is much easier to reference when discussing any issues. Hopefuly this will help.
