Not sure if I am phrasing this correctly - what I want to know is, would it be possible for a pt. to enter their own stuff (personal info, insurance info, contact numbers, disclaimers, and even family history) into AC before we even see them? (assuming we have a chart set up for them)
This would free up a lot of time for our front desk, and they could be verifying insurance while the pt does the other stuff....

How could you keep them from clicking on something private? I wish AC had a kiosk feature like this. You could have them fill out a form in MS Word and then cut and paste. Others are using a designated program for this: Phreesia.

The closest thing to this that I've seen is the free interface with Appointment Quest. Works great for a new patient. When you download the day's schedule, it populates the demographic screen. But everything isn't included in the interface. It doesn't import the insurance information. But it does import the address. Would be nice if it would get the insurance information.

For AQ? They have their prices posted on their website. it varies depending on , say, how many different schedules you want to be able to have, and other stuff.

An AC Portal would be really good for this... Fill out all of the forms before you get to the office. View items online. It would prevent duplicates as well.

I don't believe that you want patients to have access to your portal until they have established themselves as a patient with you. That means completing the first visit. But Most forms are new patient forms that need to be completed for the first visit. That's why I just email the forms to new patients, and they bring them to their appointment. Yes, too bad we still have to type them in.

Melanie,
My wife created a template in Updox with all the info, but I am not taking many new patients, but my existing patients, my nurse is calling and having them fill out the demographics and filing this in their chart--works quite well, but not doing this with new patients, until i train them on how I want them to use the portal--ie not a free unending e-conversation with my nurse. jimmie

Okay so you can use phreesia to do a lot of this. Right now they come in and put in the info in the pad and my desk can import some of it and will copy and past the rest from the pdf that phreesia creates automattically on the server...they are working on a sign in from home part which they keep saying will be out in X time but like AC they are way behind...
For jimmie, you said your wife created a template in updox, but does that template then autoload into your AC? or then do you type and fill it out?

Ketan,
I have several forms my wife created at the patient end of the portal, a demographic form, a prescription request form, an appointment request form, and the (thanks to the new law this year) annual wellness medicare screening assessment form. The patient fills the forms out and then sends through the Updox portal and then my nurse copies and pastes or routes into the AC message area. So the patient does all the work, and each form makes a nice readable message or chart import entry depending on how it is routed by my nurse--jimmie

Okay so then my phreesia part does the same thing. But they have to do it in my office. Phreesia is looking into a home check in option.
