I will be hosting the Chicago Area UG.

I am based far South and South Suburbs, but we can try to set a central meeting place, just need to get a hospital to host the location.

Anyone interested can send me a Private Message (PM)

I do not have a time frame for starting this. I figure we can either meet on a weekend or in the evening.

I am open to an agenda. Some higher priority items may be wroking to get MU (meaningless use) money, or how to build a secure system.

You can find my email address in my profile and email me as well, either is OK.

OK, so far I have 18 people who have sent me emails regarding the Chicago AC group.

Minor Technicality, but I am trying to figure out how to send a email to all of you as a group email. AOL will get back to me wink That's OK because I was giving enough time to get responses from those primarily interested.

Some of those that responded did not include any information about their location. Some I know personally, so I can locate, others gave a response with a location. I have identified a group in the Western Suburbs, One South, but half I do not know locations.

Expect an email in the next week, we may try to have a couple of regional meetings, depending on where the locations put us. I will also ask for day/time preferences. No need to hurry a response, my email will be out sometime next week.

It's better than Compuserve.

I find it amusing when people have their emails at the "rocketmail.com" domain. That's classy.

Guess it sort of gives an idea how long I have been on the internet.

My first modem was 300 baud. I had to custom make a cable for my Mac. Earlier on AOL was the one of the only games in town (yeah, I tried Compuserve too, but they did not have any dial up numbers that would not cost me extra* in the area.) *different regions of Chicago are considered long distance by ATT or whatever they were calling themselves then.

By the time I was using AOL I think I was either using a 14.4K or 28K modem. Never paid more than $4.00/mo and was about to drop them when they went free. They used to have the best search engine, long before Google was dreamed of. Netscape was the browser of choice, even on the Mac.

Oh yeah, they did tell me how to solve the problem and emails have been sent.
