Yes I refuse to use caremark and give the printed rx's to patients..it seems caremark doesnt want to play ball at times and when you call them...well that is almost futile...

But god forbid we shouldn't all "Fully Comply" with the stone tablets of Meaningless Use handed down from above and do and install purchase all of this now practically required CCHIT, even though it is still all messed up in Free Market squables and hell. So they can charge lots of $$$ for all of this CCHIT, we and or our vendors like Jon, AC have to pay lots of money to use access their over priced CCHIT, but only we get penalized for not using their yet to function 99% of the time systems which seem to be messed up mostly by capitalist, greed, strong arm, leveraging one another bickering back and forth between the portal vendors fighting for ultimate control....

Does anyone else see a problem with this????

Paul, Paul, Paul... you will get lots of sympathy (though not necessarily complete agreement) on your views of CCHIT, MU, etc. To say nothing of Big Pharma and their nearly embarrassing profits. But lets not conflate all that with e-prescribing. E-rx is a program that is really win-win when these companies play by the rules. Better for us, for the patients, for the medical system. IMHO.

Hi jimmie,

If you are still having trouble with the CVS Caremark Pharmacy, we can take a look at your account settings to see if anything is amiss.

Please let me know the name of your Practice, so I can look into it. Or, you can send me an email, if you like, to darryl@amazingcharts.com.

Thanks!

Caremark MailOrder Electronic 9501 E Shea Blvd Scottsdale Arizona 85260

Right now a test script says "Transmit method" = Other. "Status" = verified

we tell each pharmacy that faxes refills they must use eRx.
The mom and pops locally - we cut some slack.
3 guesses which big pharmacy/mail order outfit just says they "can't send refill requests electronically"?

Ok, Ok, you only need 1 guess.

So if NewCorp or Darryl@AC has any ideas?

I read somewhere that, as no option was available to eprescribe to the Caremark Hub, one should just send everything to the specialty site in Northbrook, Il. and that they would then send it where it needed to go. I did this successfully until about a month ago when I was sent a fax saying the script I wrote should be forwarded (by fax) to such and such a number. I replied "why should I waste MY time? You forward it!" I did not hear back from them and I continued to send scripts to that address. I now note that the Northbrook option is absent but there is a listing for Caremark Mailorder Electronic, in Scottsdale, AZ. It is just above the fax only option.

JBS,

Big Pharma does not have embarrasing profits. Check this out:

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Here-Why-Big-Pharma-Profits-wscheats-2990734368.html

Of course, this begs the question: Do you want big pharma profitable or going bankrupt?

Well, I tried the Scottsdale option and it failed too, Todd.

Just to update...the test prescription I sent Monday initially said "verified" and has now reached the "queued" status which I think means it did get there.

Jon,

It is probably queued only because they know it is a test and they do not have to do anything with it...anything real and requiring work on their part is denied access.

Hi Everyone,

I am working with NewCrop to see if there is an issue with CVS Caremark.
In the meantime, we will be reaching out to you so we that can verify the issues and troubleshoot further.

AC spent more than 30 minutes with me and it looks like newcrop is not seeing the test rx's that we sent through today to CVS caremark on shea blvd in beautiful arizona, so they cannot track them. They are working hard and promise to fast track this.

I just spent a painful 30 min talking to 10 differrent people at cvs caremark...I got 5 wimpy stories on why they cannot see our scripts. One girl Tricia...says they cannot see our rx's for 24 hours...I told her to get 2 tin cans and some string....she promised to call me back today on a patient account.. this is concerning the Shea Blvd electronic area on the AC script writer...

I've been lucky and haven't had too much problems with the eprescribing. I would think if you sent your patients elsewhere to fill their prescriptions, that this would be the easy fix. Is that the only pharmacy near you?

I got a fax yesterday from a Caremark Specialty place saying the eprescription I sent there could not be filled there and that it had to go to their Scottsdale address. I replied that I had tried that address and it would not go through. They replied then that I should fax it to that address. I told them I refused to do that. If they wanted to fax it there so be it but I intend to eprescribe as mandated by my Federal Government

I only use caremark CVS--the scottsdale pharmacy only when requested by a patient. (and usually when they are not present in the office)-I do everything possible to eprescribe at the time of visit and turn in the G8553 code, so hopefully won't get further penalized. Right now my % of e prescribing is high enough to continue to fax when needed. We have two local pharmacies and a military base pharmacy that refuse to take e-prescriptions. But the biggest pain is the CVS/caremark scottsdale mail order pharmacy-- jimmie
