One of the few things I wish we could do is customize the output produced when you print an H&P. What I would love is the printout to look like those produced by eclinicalworks. The PMH/Surgical/social/ family hx, med and allergies are all listed on the left side in a column while the rest of the H&P make up the body of the note. It's very clean appearing and things are very easy to find. When I admit someone to the hospital or send pre-op consult notes back to the specialists I like the notes to look great. Anyone know if this is possible???

We don't have the power to adjust the formatting like such. It would be awesome if we did. Until recently the formatting was worse, there were no spaces between the different formatted areas. At least we have spaces now. yay!

It's not possible at this time. How much does eClinicalWorks cost?

Re eCW The bid I got for a five yr asp type eCW contract for two MD office topped $113000
That did include some new HW they insisted upon, but as it was hosted offsite ASP it wasn't that much. It did include training $ that exceeded my first yr AC costs.

Re output One of my wish list pol entries was the ability to get access the data (read only) so we could have our own report writer. For my money, MS Access is very capable for producing very attractive output, that item was in the bottom 1% but would solve the issue of unattractive output.

Not sure how the cost of eCW plays into this. We all know how much AC costs in comparison to the majority of other products available though. Dont get me wrong the current print out looks way better than my hand written paper note but if I can make it better I wanted to know how.

It plays into this, because we have been trying as users to improve the formatting for years.

While I agree that the cost shouldn't prohibit one to try to improve the product, one still can't overlook that an incredibly expensive product can do things that one that is less expensive can't.

In short, we have to make some concessions for the benefit of owning a lesser priced system while it is still a superior product.

That is how it plays into this.

I apologize for being so blunt. I actually agree with you 100%

Unfortunately, the bottom line is it has never seemed to be a priority for AC to improve on that.
