I am hoping this will make WiFi an option for networking AC in the office. 802.11n is still too slow for me.

John,

Yes that will be great. But, I wonder a bit about your WIFI system if it seems too slow. We have 8 workstations and an 802.11n system on a gigabit backbone operating in the 5 GHz band (not the usual 2.4 GHz band) due to interference from multiple offices in the building. The folks who sit at the same desk all day are hardwired. Although I can plug the laptop into the gigabit ethernet system, I rarely do, as the speed difference does not amount to much in practical terms, and plugging and unplugging and waiting for the network to reestablish itself eats up any advantage. The speed of our system is never network limited as far as I can tell. Do you have anyone available to you who has the equipment do a knowledgeable analysis of your wireless network?

Yes, I'm in a 26 office, 3 story building trying to stay connected on the 2.4 GHz band.

Download the freeware inSSIDer and look at what is going on in your local wireless environment. We were terribly crowded on 2.4 GHz, and all by ourselves after installing the Cisco. 5 GHz wireless access point. Our connectivity issues disappeared.
