Anyone using AC with Mac? I have been lurking for a while and have not found any Mac forums. I am a new Mac convert trying to decide on the best OS to run with AC. I have a new Macbook with Bootcamp so I can run Windows. From researching the net, it looks like Windows Xp PRO SP2 (64 bit) may be the best option. Vista seems to have some problems and require a lot of memory. I am transitioning from hospitalist, to private practice. I offer medical weight loss and bio-identical hormone replacement, so pts pay at the time of service with cash or check and I supply codes for them to submit to insurance. Will probably only see about 15/day and my wife works as office manager from home. I currently rent space from an established Pod parctice and have no employees ( trying to keep overhead low). Any input from Mac users would be appreciated!

Don't pick windows vista - there are issues running it in a hosted environment. The EULA doesn't allow it, either, although I read recently that the EULA is changing to allow running it if the machine is licensed or something (although why anyone would want to is beyond me) Stick to Windows XP SP2.

I am the only mac user on our network of 5 providers. I use a macbook pro with parallels. Works beautifully. I do have XP, not vista.

It's a shame Amazing Charts doesn't have a true Mac version. I suspect there are a lot of Mac-loving docs out there that would snap up a Mac OS version Amazing Charts. Jon would have an instant monopoly in that niche market. Sure, your MacBook will run AC under Parallels or Boot Camp, but unless you're using MacOS, you're really not getting the full benefit of the Mac environment. I once read on the AAFP EMR comparison website someone described Amazing Charts as the most Mac-like EMR on the market. I certainly agree, but would like to see the next step taken. The Mac-compatible EMRs on the market right now are not that great. Imagine a Mac AC EMR wedded to a MacPractice PMR running apps on your iPhone (ala Life Record).
