All you fellow updox users -- we had a problem today with documents going directly to the patient chart without going to the doctor's inbox first. I contacted updox and got the following: "I apologize for any inconvenience cause by the bug that you described. The issue was brought to our attention today. The issue is with the 'Notify Provider' drop down when sending items into Amazing Charts from Updox. Previously the drop down would default to the providers name. Today it is not behaving that way. I have spoken to our development staff and we will fix the issue with an update in the early AM on Wednesday. The update will restore the proper behavior. Again sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for any understanding."

Unfortunately unlike AC, they don't have a forum for users, so we all individually could have the exact same problem, and never know if it is happening system-wide or just to us. Of all things, they have a Twitter page, which is worse than useless, since you only get half the conversation.

I was having problems last week but they seem to have resolved it quite promptly. We received an email acknowledging the problem and another saying it was fixed. If you are still having problems I would contact support. I have found them to be extremely responsive.

WARNING - MY STAFF UPDOX IMPORTS BYPASSED MY PHYSICIAN AMAZING CHARTS INBOX BEGINNING 12/6/2011 AT 13:11 EST.
I generally have been enjoying Updox, but I thought I would share a few hiccups as they might impact other users or have solutions volunteered by longer users than myself more familar with the application.
1.) I only discovered this today when wondering why a long overdue lab hadn't come to my attention and concerningly was discovered filed in the AC imports unsigned without generating a physician inbox message. As I have only recently started Updox and have yet to publish my new Updox fax number, everything comes through our old fax number to e-mail service. By logging on the the old fax service providers website archive, I was able to review back the last 150 incoming faxes until I found them consistently having been sent to my inbox before the time above. (this is about the time Updox sent three messages that the system was being worked upon.) Tediously, I opened every chart to which my staff imported a fax since the time above and reviewed all these unsigned off imports, several dozen in all, most of which I wouldn't have been aware of until potentially months later when the patient next returned, and some of which were abnormal needing intervention.
2.) The faxes in question mysteriously are no longer found in the Updox sent box as they previously were after importing, so I am not sure how I would have tracked this down.
3.) Occasionally I have noted mislabelling in the Updox routing documentation "From" field, where the incorrect staffer's name appears.
4.) If a patient dies or transfers out of your practice and you "inactivate" them in AC, then subsequently receive something later needing to file in their chart, Updox cannot find them until you temporarily re-activate the patient. [12/14/2011 Edited - SOLUTION: Updox/Admin/PracticeProfile/Settings/ShowInactivePatientsWhenSearching]
5.) I have also experienced Updox documents being routed within Updox getting marked "Used" after the first transfer but before they get to me and imported to AC.

And the problem where items are marked "Used" inappropriately that I described in another thread is not corrected, even with the fix suggested by Updox support.

Updox Update 1. As of 12/14/2011 Updox imports into AC are now correctly generating a physician inbox message. 4. Inactive patients remain unsearchable in Updox even after enabling this feature in Updox
