DISCLAIMER: What James said.

Free Terminal Server using Windows 7. Since a lot of people have been complaining about the price of a Terminal Server, here's a way to make a Terminal Server using Windows 7 Pro. You're probably going to want a decent amount of RAM and good processor. I would post a guide with a ton of screen shots, but I didn't feel like taking 200 and writing and instruction manual. Video seems to be okay with most people. I'll put on Youtube to make it easier. Watch in HD and full screen.

I hate to be "that guy" but there are a few things I feel need to be pointed out.

1. This "patch" will clearly not be supported by Microsoft.

2. You are breaking the licensing for Windows 7 by using this patch.

3. Future updates and services packs released by Microsoft will very likely break this patch. So here you are, two years later, you have 10 people using this "fake terminal server" and Service Pack 2 for Windows 7 breaks your patch. Now what?

4. You likely will not get the performance out of this fake terminal server as you would a real one.

I hate to rain on Sandeep's parade, truly I do, but when it comes to business risk and assessing it, these things need to be pointed out.

My apologies, Sandeep.

I knew that stuff going in. Why would they support something like that? Then they couldn't make any money ha. Jailbroken iPhones, modded gaming consoles, etc. I consider it a gray area. The patch has been broken but was fixed in less than a day when SP1 was released ha. Worse comes to worse, you can roll back. Again, this is not the recommended way, but a possibility nonetheless.

If some software developer found a way to exploit that using their own version of the file (sound familiar :P), it'd be pretty lucrative. They would just have to continue to support it.
