Tried the minor changes suggested above by tech support, and instead of a postage stamp I got a 1/4 of a page script, slightly more visible to the naked eye. Clearly it is simply a programming issue with AC, not a TSP driver issue, in my humble opinion. I agree profusely with the EyeGuy comment above.... if it was working in v 5.29, can they not simply go back and review all the facets of the program as it pertained to the TSP and find the glitch?
I remember specifically that in v5.29, when you would prepare to print a script using the TSP as the selected format, you would have an option of selecting "full page" vs. 2 per page or 4 per page, etc. I would leave it set to "full page", and would get a nice, normal script to print out. In all the versions AFTER v5.29, however, this option is no longer found when one selects the TSP format..... I think herein lies the problem.... if an AC programmer could get to that very point in the printing process and find out why this has changed, I think the problem could be fixed.

Eureka ! TSP 800 Prescription printer now working with version 6.1.1 and setting the paper size to 104x200 (THANKS BERT !)
To set the paper size, right click the printer in the control panel. Choose printer preferences. Choose Paper /Quality. Choose advanced. Then choose paper size of 104 x 200 and apply.

6.1.1 and still no cigar!! The last my TSP worked was with version 5. Since then it has been collecting dust. Did everything that Bert and Tech support recommended in this thread but TSP spits out two scripts for one print command. One is blank and the other is a faded print in extremely small font size. Also, the script header puts my name twice: line one and two. Then my LLC name in line three. City, State and Zip in line four. No street address!!! I was the happiest with version 5 in all facets of the EMR experience! On a lighter note, now having to write the scheduled scripts, I realized how much my handwriting has deteriorated from typing all the time.

But, seriously, given all of the combinations of V6.0.9 through V6.1.1 and all the drivers, etc., it is still possible that you haven't hit on the right combination.

tech support gave me a print driver that was over 3 years old and did not work on my TSP. then they told me it was my network. I'm sorry but the TSP worked fine in V5, then all of a sudden stopped working when I installed v6. The TSP works just fine when I spool any other document to it. It's not my network and it's not my TSP that are the problem, it's v6. I agree w/ Dr. Prieto above.
I've had all combinations of the microscopic sized font, the extra page spit out at the end (which is wasting my expensive C-II paper by the way), the 1/4 of a script printed on the paper spread over 4 sheets of Rx.
I'm really really really unhappy about the problems with AC interfacing w/ the TSP. ESPECIALLY when the TSP is advertised right in AC Program. and ESPECIALLY when it worked fine before.
Totally ridiculous and unacceptable. If you are listening to this post, PLEASE FIX IT AC

Weird that in V6.1.1, some find it is working great (including our own internal QA team), but others clearly are still having issues as noted above.
I agree that it could be a different version of the driver - although as part of V6.1.1. we found that the main issue was our new Crystal Reports build set the default paper size as standard letter, and not the correct size of 104mm x 200mm.
I've asked our QA and TS (Tech Support, aka Guardian Angel Support team) to follow this thread and look into the problem. Check back soon....

Is it possible to have a drop down menu to choose different paper sizes 104mm x 204 mm, Letter, A4 .... Just a thought Grenville

Grenville,
Can you be more specific? The driver does have the drop downs, of which the only two that would ever work properly would be 104 x receipt or 104 x 200.
The letter one is interesting as it seems to default back to "Letter" many times, which Star Micronics is looking at.
There is no settings on the printer. Are you talking about in AC itself? It still would need to use the Star print driver.

While AC was looking into the problems with TSP printer and AC,I thought the 102mm x 200mm format could be an option to choose in the AC software print options if the AC software for the TSP printer defaults to other settings like A4,Letter etc. Grenville

The software and the printer have to work together. If AC is set to print regular scripts it can be set to print one to a page and up to four to a page. But, it is the print driver (say HP 1100) that ultimately decides the way it will be printed. You could choose landmark or portrait, etc.
In this case, the TSP print driver is compatible with XP, WIN 7 32-bit and 64-bit, etc. It is the driver that needs to be told whether you want A4 or what. Back in XP, the nummber of selections of the Star printer were five times the amount now. If you chose 104 mm times 200 mm, that is what you got. At that point, we would use 104 x 140 as the default.

We have identified an issue with printing to the TSP800 printer on V6.1.1 . This issue appears to only exist when printing scripts to the TSP800 when the TSP800 is not the default printer (on the computer printing the script). Printing to the TSP800 works correctly if it is set as the default printer. When the TSP800 is not the default printer (and the default printer has a letter size paper as the default), scripts print using only part of the TSP800 paper.
This doesn?t seem to be an issue with the TSP800II which prints correctly even if it?s not the default printer.
The development team is aware of the issue and looking for a fix.

Thanks John, That is good info, and I am about to set up the TSP800II. I know your post is on 6.1.1, but I have been recommending this since 8/16/11. No problem. The key is to find at least one computer where you set up the driver preferably by Windows Update. Then do the settings on the TSP. If that print driver will print to the TSP as the DEFAULT PRINTER, then you are all set. Keep it the default printer ALWAYS and share it. Then, have all the other computers search for it and use that print driver on their machine as the DEFAULT print driver as well. If your preview does not look like this then it will not print properly. Lastly, in the admin section, you have to have TSP and Format 1 selected. If you can't get it to work, I can remote in tonight.

The TSP did work on my sole Windows 7 pc but not on any of my Windows Vist 64 bit machines; I worked for an hour with John from tech support (above), to no avail. I was able to do the "sharing" trick, though, and now I just print scripts to the TSP via my windows 7 pc, where the printer is shared. Bizarre that one has to go through this roundabout, but at least its working. My only other gripe, which I may have posted previously (above) , is that if I need to print several scripts to the TSP, they have to be printed one by one; otherwise, the scripts just come out as a long strip of prescription paper with several scripts back to back. Back in the V5 days, one had the option on AC in TSP800 Format of selecting "full page", and then you could send numerous scripts to the TSP, and it would print and cut them individually; not sure if anyone has looked at this issue yet?? To Adam (above), I certainly sympathize with your frustration; I would ask if you have tried v 6.1.1 TSP printing on a windows 7 machine? That seemed to be the trick for me....

LuisP, I have the same issue regaring multiple scripts printing out without cuts between them now. using version 6.1.1. Mine are lined up with the black marks at least.

I can print multiple scripts with 6.0.9 using the default method, although some print without default.
I have a TSP800 II on the way. If this is the godsend, I will let everyone know.
