We have not been able to back up since July 11. We have gone back and forth with AC and our IT. Both are pretty sure it is the others concern. We have stripped out server and AC say they have loaded our data on their server and works just fine.

Anyone else having similar issues? We are frustrated at this point and are in a very precarious position not being able to back up.

Can you describe your back up process in a little more detail? On-site back-up provided by AC, or online back-up? Did you recently upgrade to V6?

We use AC on-site back up.
We upgraded to V 6 in the spring and even purchased a new server to help with speed.
All of the problems seemed to start when we attempted to run an audit log.

This is a business trip, not a vacation. I spent the day speaking with a group of other AC users about the program. They are here on business, too.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
I think I smell pineapple upside down cake. Gotta run.

So if you run AC backup -

1) Try once and exclude imported items - save only locally.

2) If that works then try with imported items.

3) If that works try saving off site

4) Try to let us know exactly what error you are getting and when it occurs.

First, give us a name. It is hard talking to pvsjr5. Thanks.

I need to hear this again, because I MUST have this wrong.

What I am reading is that the AC backup program is not working. I am reading that you have not backed up your data since July 11.

If you are doing other backups of your server which includes your AC data, then I will do everything in my power to help including remoting in and trying to figure out the problem.

If on the other hand you are telling me that you have a problem with AC's backup and have not done a backup of your entire server or at least a backup of your data by itself with a different much better, much more reliable backup program, then I am horrified.

Am I to understand that none of your patient data that resides in the AmazingCharts.mdf database is backed up since July 11. And, your practice is blaming this on the Amazing Chart's backup.

You should think of AC's backup like a bicycle compared to a Ferrari. I don't even use it unless I need to upgrade. It is a nice tool to give a simple, compact backup of your data. But, I would NEVER consider it a good backup of my data.

I am guessing since you upgraded to a new server (what kind of server, what model server, what OS, what type of network), that you have a backup strategy in place to back up all of the data on the server. If it is a commercial server such as a Dell Server, it must have a server OS. If it has a server OS, then it is likely SBS or regular 2008. If it is 2008 server, then it has its own imaging backup.

I will await your reply. I am very worried. If you lost all of your data back to July 11, your office would be hard to recover.

Simply go out and download Backup Assist for a 30 day free trial and back up the server.

To: Fer and Bert

This is Pete,

Fer we have not been able to back up since 7/11. When AC has logged in to help us they make a back up.

Yes we have a server that backs up all other data but the AC back up that we pay for times out. It cannot generate a report. Any backup being done is simply a copy of data.

We are more horrified than you but I appreciate the empathy.

We have tried to express our concern and legal liability.

AC moves slow until I send an email to Jon which thankfully gets some response. They are sending out a hard drive copying our data and trying to replicate the problem on their end.

We have a 2008 windows server (suggested by AC and purchased when we upgraded to version six because of how slow things were).

I will update.

Mine is not working either. I thought it was because they were doing maintenance. Here is the message I get...

"Your Amazing Charts backup completed with errors.

Amazing Charts FAILED to upload to AC backup site:
- Amazing Charts Backup Utility could not connect securely with the Amazing Charts servers. Your file can not be uploaded at this time.

Please try again later and if the problem persists tomorrow, please contact us at www.amazingcharts.com/help."

Our back up has not worked since Friday, as well.
The same message Leslie posted, with error code 200 listed.

We have just completed a major server migration so we could accept larger backups and allow them to be uploaded at greater speeds.

We are aware that a number of clients are getting time-out errors and connection errors and we are working to resolve this.

I am hopeful this will be solved shortly...

In the meantime, if you are affected:
1) continue to attempt your daily backups to our server.
2) be sure to backup to another drive on your network, if possible. Contact us for help if you need assistance figuring out how to do this.

Jon

This is an update to Dr. Bertman?s post.

Yesterday we made a change to our server and have confirmed that three customers that were unable to complete a backup since the migration have now been able to do so.

I believe that this issue may be resolved but I do not want to state that definitively until I can confirm more successful backups.

I apologize for the inconvenience and aggravation this issue has caused.
