I find it a little disturbing. Uncensored as long as we say only positive things?

I thought it meant uncensored as long as we don't resort to name calling, cursing or lying......

One of the topics discussed with Jon Bertman at Tahoe was the role of the forum and its relationship to the company. This explanation should probably be something that comes from AC itself, but here is my view (in the interim). The notice that was added makes it clear to everyone, especially "shoppers" (those who are in the process of learning about various EMR's) that the opinions expressed here are totally independent of the company's views. As you can imagine, when there are negative discussions here, it is not the best PR for the company. On the other hand, when the discussion is positive (as is generally the case) it is a plus for marketing. In my opinion, it takes some guts to allow users to say what they want AND to have that available to the public. That is not the case with most EMR's. Dr. Bertman expressed a commitment to a free flow of ideas, at least amongst average users, even when he doesn't necessarily like what he reads. The statement is supposed to make the relationship of the board to the company a bit clearer, and to express some basic standards for posting by board users.

Well Jon, that makes sense and is not a bad thing. Maybe we can get him to place it in plain-face type. So it looks nice and professional.

Don't you think "jerk for no good reason" is a bit unprofessional? Hope they can rephrase that part, at least. It comes across quite negatively.

Actually, that message was from me.
Good point, I've changed it from jerk to mean. Jon
P.S. I couldn't figure out how to get it unbolded! I'm still working on that. I agree, a bit ugly looking.

I couldn't figure out how to get it unbolded! I thought that is one of the reasons we have Bert...

Sorry, I could have easily unbolded it, although I would have been tempted to just go oops! Of course, now I can just watch, but not for long.

I am a brand new to AC and love the forum as is--first full day entering data into the electronic record, and I have to say much better than anticipated (with all the helpful hints--thanks David and all). the forum has anything but dissuaded me from AC. thanks for all the input thus far. jimmie

Congratulations on starting up using AC. May it remain as smooth in the future.

Now the notice is only on the first page when you come to the board but goes away for the rest of the time you are here.
