Does anyone use AC for psychiatry? One of my clients is interested in using EHR but wants to make sure templates are available and that it works well with mental health.

Thank you

I am also interested in information regarding Amazing Charts' application to psychiatric practice. I am exploring the feasibility of adding three psychiatrists to AC. I'd like to know if anyone is successfully do so.

I am a psychiatrist and have been using AC for a couple of years. I think it works very well Generally I do medication management. It allows you to use templates of your own design and allows narrative entries rather then check marks which I have never liked. I have a nurse practitioner in my office who is using it, sharing it, and she has been pleased with it as well.

Do either of you use Dragon Voice to dictate reports?

No, I used those a few years ago and found them cool, but slow. I can type about 40 per minute and my notes are not very verbose. I just type them in I especially like that it brings forward the social history, which is often important in my work.

Thank you for the information, Dr. Sullivan. I agree with your distaste of check blocks. It seems like it would stifle the thinking process a bit ; )
