I am on version 5.0.29 and we have been looking for ways to enter in the TB skin testing in AC after it is given. We look at the immunization list and it is not in there. Any ideas?

I would do an addendum with the title: "PPD Screening - Neg (or Pos). Write the info in the body of the addendum ie PPD given Right FA xx/xx/xxxx, read xx/xx/xxxx negative"

You can save it as a separate note and it will appear in the Past Encounters section

I use Version 6 - under Decision Support in a visit note you can choose INJECTIONS NON HM. This way it is in immunizations, injections (I also do B12, Toradol, etc) - you can also do a quick addendum with a template for readings, which will show up in past visits.

I also put it in the Injection Non HM. You can enter the results in the comment section.

My MA was just asking about this. I said put it here as well. There is also a READ that has to happen later.

But what happens if you want a print out of the result of the PPD. I dont think that the comments print out when you print it from that HM section, and often patients need something to show their PPD results. It's a special case. And suppose its postive? Then you need the indurantion, and need to print that out too.

This is a crazy workaround, but if you:

Select Alerts and Directives from the summary sheet.
Choose Add New
Type in the name of the patient in Name
Type in the date of the PPD in Details
Click Save.
Any comments would be for you as they would not show up in Print

When he returns, open the A & D, and simply type in the resuts about four spaces over from the initial PPD details. So, 5 mm of induration on 6/21/11.
Click Save.

When you open and choose Print, it will show the name, the date of the first PPD and the date and result of the 2nd as well as keep a record both in the window and the History sectioned. It will also show who saved it, on what date and time.

Just a workaround.

Wayne,

It does print from the summary tab if you have it under Injections. The comments ( or in this case reading) also prints.

Yes, it does. But, then don't you have to print the whole thing. For instance, if you just need to show your employer your TB test was negative, you may not want him/her to know another result.

Oh well, forget that. They all show up on my ridiculous workaround as well. At least yours isn't a workaround. smile

Ok. I had tried some of these. Not the Alerts (but then I didnt want it to show up when you clicked on the patients name). I hadn't tried the non-hm injections, but assumed it worked like the vaccinations which I had tried previously.

You can log just the "applied/results" in tracked data, but if you print it it will print all tracked data.
