The exact wording when running database tuner is Ad hoc update to system catalogs is not supported

it happens with both the tuner and the optimiser. I am running windows 2008 SBS with SQL server.

Been told it is a problem with the full version of SQL and I will need to uninstall SQL server and reinstall AC and let it install SQL Express

Are you running the database tuner IN the AC folder?

I would be careful about the SQL 2005 thing. I am not saying they are correct. I haven't tested it. But, they aren't SQL gurus for sure. If you do end up thinking it is SQL 2005, and you need the extra power, I can hook you up with a SQL guru friend of mine. Microsoft Certified, the whole bit.
