Using Avira w/ all alerts on, I recently got tr/dropper.gen trojan positives on all AC .exe. Running the files on multi AV scanner shows only Avira picking it up. I notified Avira, but haven't heard back from them. Just to let anyone using Avira know when AC doesn't start up...

I am confused by what you mean by "anyone using Avira know when AC doesn't start up..."

Are you saying that this Trojan, if not a false positive, is only going to affect users with Avira?

No, likely this is a false positive reported by Avira antivirus, because other scanners say it's negative. It affects Avira users when Avira tries to quarantine (remove) these AC .exe's, which will then prevent AC from running normally. I do have my Avira alerts set on max, which may also cause increased falsies.

Most viruses are not going to attack the files in AC. Maybe you can set it as an exclusion.

Did you submit the virus to www.virustotal.com?

Perhaps it would be a good idea to add AC to the exceptions. You don't want AC Freezing up because a false positive. By setting the security level high, you also tell the resident scanner to utilize more resources resulting in a greater slow down.
