The new password works fine for Admin options but I can't delete imported items. Anyone have this problem or know the solution? Thank you!

Christy,
I am missing something. What do you mean by a new password? I mean did you change it or something?

Yes, it looks like part of my message is cut off - I'm sorry about that. I had a need to change the Asministrator password and it works fine for everything but deleting the imported documents. Neither the old or new password will work in that area now.

This is just a shot in the dark, but have you tried using AmazingUtilities and running "Fix a malfunctioning database?"

OK, just dumb ideas since this has never come up before; and I have never changed my password before.
1. Are you changing your password from the "server" application? This really shouldn't matter. 2. Have you tried changing your password to something else? 3. When you say the old password doesn't work, do you mean you are simply trying to use it or did you switch back? 4. If not, try switching your password back to that one. 5. Have you closed and opened every application? You must have if you real the Fix it tool. 6. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling AC on the server? I would think that would work.

All users need to log off for new user settings to take effect. Did all the users log off and then log on??

Good point. They would have all had to log off to do the "wrench" thing. But, do they also need to log back on?

Why do all clients need to do the Amazing Utilities??? The fix is to the main folder on the main machine, whether MS server or Windows XP P2P based systems. Once fixed or tuned the rest are all getting their data from that main folder and database. Yes they do need to reboot to get to the new updated stuff like users and passwords changed since last boot sequence but that should be about it, yes??? AU shouldn't need to be run on every client computer as I understand it....

No, AU does not need to be run on the client. Actually, if you run AU on the client, it is compacting or fixing the databases on the server application.
You also do not have to even have client software on the clients.
I think you misunderstood, though. What I was referring to is that in the past (it seems to have changed recently) is that you could not run the Amazing Utilities while any of the client software were open and accessing the database.

Okay I run SBS 2003 and I administer everything at the server. I will uninstall and reinstall this weekend and see if that helps at all. I haven't tried changing back to the old password etc. it sounds like musical passwords and seems pointless. When I mentioned the old password I simply tried to use it to see if it would work in the imported documents field.
As far as any other comments related to my network, all my clients are restarted every night and Zenith Info Tech manages and monitors my clients and server updates so they are always strong. I run a tight ship technology wise. There aren't any clients lagging behind on anything and I run utilities nightly from my server. I will let you know how this works out.

Wow! You are awesome. I am very OCD with my server, but I let my clients slide sometimes as far as patches, updates, etc. Actually, Microsoft doesn't use the term patches. With SBS, I could have the server handle the updates on the clients, but I never got around to it. I try to train my staff to do it, because I really don't like going around to every PC and updating them.
I am also impressed with your running utilities every night. I run it about every two weeks, lol. Or, when thing seem slow. I forgot why you changed the password. I think uninstalling and reinstalling may be the answer, but who knows? Good luck!
