I am using 6.0 and when you open up the bigger box to type (ctrl E for those who didn't know , that is the tip for the day), we used to be able to use the up, down, left and right buttons to move the cursor incase you wanted to go up or down or you used a template and wanted to highlight some of it using the cursor keys and delete, but in the first release of 6.0 the left and right cursor keys they decided to make it go to the previous or next fields without saving...so you could have typed 2 paragraphs and then realized two spaces to the left there was typo and you wanted to change it, well if you hit left, it went to the previous field and you lost all of what you wrote.

I sent a bug report and talked to Claire (who is GREAT). So they released a new version yesterday and now the up and down arrrow do the nonsense of changing fields without saving so you lose the data but the left and right arrows move your cursor like they should!

I am being told it has somethign to do with something..now in ALL THE PREVIOUS VERSIONS for the last 20 MONTHS it has never been like this...IF others agree with me please please submit reports as this doesn't make sense one bit!

I am trying to reproduce your problem in version 5.17.

Are you referring to the section box in each of the patient fields?

i.e.:
SECTION TEXT (IMAGINE THE TEXT BOXES)

Chief Complaint
HPI
ROS


I have found that you can type in TEXT field, and inadVertently
move the cursor to A DIFFERENT SECTION under the SECTION part and select another section of the chart, you will lose what you type.

This has been present since this change was made.

I am not sure that my answer is clear enough.
