I attempted to send an eRX today, but the patient's preferred pharmacy wasn't a choice in AC. However, it is a pharmacy listed on Surescripts web site?
Is this a common occurrence? How do I get AC to sync with what Surescripts says is available?

Which AC version are you using? I have found virtually all pharmacies including mail-order on 5.17. Very pleasing.

5.0.29. Talked with tech support and this version doesn't automatically update the pharmacy database.
Looks like I need to take a serious look at running beta software in a production environment.

I have likewise noted that some pharmacies that used to work in 5.029 no longer seem to function. I was just told by tech support that they will likely not do a full production release of 5.1x, waiting for version 6, sue "in a couple of weeks."

That's what I was told by tech support this morning, too.
Also, just got a link from Jon for an AC survey. One of the questions was "Did you know Amazing Charts V6, which will be released this quarter, is ONC-ATCB Certified for Meaningful Use and thus eligible for the Federal HITECH stimulus money?"
Unless that's a typo, this quarter ends in just over three weeks. So we should be seeing v6 real soon.

I'm having the same issue. A patient preferred pharmacy is not listed in AC (I'm using 5.029). Sort of defeats the purpose of E-prescribing if I can't find it on there and have to write a prescription.

This is the reason I upgraded to 5.1.7. I can find many more pharmacies, including mailorder, in the new database. I would update. Who knows how V6, if and when it ever comes out, will function. 5.1.7 is stable and functional.

How can I upgrade to 5.1.7 to get more pharmacies. My AC tells me I have the "latest version" but I am on 5.029

5.1.7 is stable and functional. Bill, Are you having the problem of messages being sent without the charts being attached? It has been reported several times with version 5.1x.

John, Still having this problem. I reported it and the Guardian angels came down from above and downloaded my database so they could take a closer look at it. I am assuming it will be fixed in V6. Usually I can figure out to whom the message refers but not always. I am in New Mexico so when I get a message that refers to A. Salazar, I wonder which of the 4 Anthonys it refers to, or is it Alex, Antonio, Arthur, Alice, Agatha or Antonia?

Well, I find this very irritating.
I am assuming that version 5.029, which I am using, is the latest "current" version, since all the 5.1x versions are listed on the AC website (Bert's link above) as beta. But there is to be no attempt to update the pharmacy or medication list for the current version, 5.029. To get updates, you must go up to 5.17, which drops the patient's chart off some messages, introducing potential documentation errors.
I am sorry, but I don't think this is what "support" means.

As I was just saying to a friend of mine on here, the methodology of how versions are done in AC seems complex and confusing. For instance, take Backup Assist, my backup software. I have the current version on my server. Then every six months or so, I be asked to be a beta tester which will give me the next version and support free, but comes wit the price of possible bugs and answering questions from scenarios that are so difficult that I just don't have the time to do. Thus, only 1% of the users are beta testers. We don't communicate as we don't even know each other. Then after all the best testing is done (behind the scenes -- most users aren't even aware beta testing is occurring), a new version is released. Which is relatively bug-free. There isn't a 5.00 on www.backupassist.com and then a 5.01 followed by a 5.02 each one requiring another installation and a small learning curve. Those are for the beta testers. Here, there are some who are beta testing prior to the version even appearing, then at some point, the BETA is released as stated above. So, now we are all downloading beta versions every few weeks to fix the bugs that the entire community have found. I guess there is some benefit to that as you end up with a lot of beta testers. I may be viewing this wrong. But, again, you don't see WIN 7.1 and then WIN 7.2, etc. until the final release is out called WIN 7.777 ******** John, How many people have reported the message bug? I am not sure. Also, as an FYI, I didn't go to the 5.1 due to the TSP800 issue, which is supposed to be fixed in 6.0. I still find it amusing that the newest beta or version or whatevr it should be referred to broke the very printer that is advertised on the website.

By the way, I am not being critical of the way AC releases versions. Just think it is different and somewhat confusing.

John, I am with you on this one. I loved the sound of V5.1 when it was presented almost a year ago at the ACUC. But it clearly has some unfixed bugs, which is why it still has not been released. I stuck with V5.028. Now it appears that AC has decided to maintain the beta rather than the current release?

Plus it can't be easy for Guardian Angels to support a current version 5.029, an open beta 5.17 and a selective release beta 6.0.

i will be going from 5.014 to 5.029 soon. 024 is really unstable. I do hope 029 is better.

What's the bug in 5.029, I haven't been having a problem.
I want to be able to eRx some of the newer meds in 5.029, like Pradaxa.
