We routinely do urine dips, urine pregnancy, hemoglobin & lead testing here in the office. I was wondering how others are documenting these in Amazing Charts?
I was thinking about scanning the labs in that are done in-house. I guess a completely paperless office is a fantasy

What is the format of the labs? Handwrittten vs machine print-out vs document (word or other)?

Sorry i didn't specify regarding format of the in-house labs.
We have a pre-printed form and the results are filled in by hand. I imagine scanning them in and filing them under "Labs" is going to be the best option but I was curious what others are doing.
Thanks

We use the note section with a template.

I have an Excel sheet called "FLOW CHART" which has two pages. One is for in house labs, the other is for other tracked labs such as Protimes, lipids, hgba1c. Send me your email and I can send mine to you. This sheet is stored on the server and is added to the imported items section of every patient. It can be edited at each visit.

We have a little paper form for urine dips and such that is later scanned into the chart. I don't think I'd want a laptop over there while reading a urine stick.

I tried to send you a copy but it came back as undeliverable. Perhaps you could pm me with it.

we print a sheet of avery labels and once filled out with UA nurses transcribe to a temple in AC. We record A1C's and microalb/creat ratios, hemocults on the chief complaint lines so we can review results and make it easier to see as how long to find when they were done last. Also recird A1C's into tracked data so can show patients how they are doing over time and it can be a real eye opener.

Sorry to quote an entire thing, but how exactly is this done? If you could explain in laymen's terms? We're trying to do this for diabetic flowchart and asthmatic one too...and I have no idea how to make the two programs interact. Help please!

You simply import and Excel sheet into a patient's chart. You can edit it at any time.

I'm going to try this but one option that I wish we had! Lab comes in goes to nurse who scan s and sends to doc. I see it and send back to nurse who has to call patien. Can't I send a one way respone to my patient via email. It would save time!
Just a thought Pete

Unfortunately for some people it comes every month. I hope that wasn't directed at Leslie.

Oooooooooooo, Jon. I thought about making a similar comment but decided to let it go. I appreciate your insinuation however that I am still young enough for it to have been directed at me. Darn it's hot in here!

Leslie, thank you! I feel like an idiot for asking silly questions. This is great! It's going to save us a lot of paperwork/scanning.
