I posed the question once before and the response was fairly limited. I think John and a couple of others posted about this, but I wonder if others would chime in since another year has passed and 2009 payments should have gone out (at the end of 2010). So... who applied for incentive payments, either for e-prescribing or through the Medicare quality initiatives (PQRI) program for 2009? If you applied, did you get a payment? get rejected? not hear anything? There is lots of speculation about this, but I think it would be instructive to hear actual experiences.

I probably already told you that I got pqri $$$ for 2009 in late Nov 2010. I did both pqri and eprescribing for 2010 but I am wondering now if I messed up by doing so and won't get either. Won't know till late Nov 2011.

Late November 2010 - I received both which amounted to several thousand dollars. It appears the issue of both does not appear until 2011- but good news is you can still get meaningful use and PQRI it appears.

I put in the codes for eprescribing. Is there something else I need to do? What is pqri?

pqri=??provider/physician quality reporting initiative?
Use a registry and report benchmarks on patients.

Vicky, Eprescribing= 2% bonus in 2010, 1% in 2011. PQRI, in 2011 now called PQRS, is a separate quality initiative that can get you another 2%. http://www.cms.gov/pqriMeaningful use is a 3rd potential bonus. So you can get pqri and meaningful use but not meaningful use and eprescribing??? Yes, I believe that is correct. To avoid duplicating the thread, see here for discussion about "dueling incentives": Incentive conflict

Thanks Jon. I sent escripts with the proper codes in 2011. Do I need to apply to get the eprescribing incentive or is "the check in the mail?"
