Has anyone been using the patient photo option? I have a new webcam to start taking pictures but a little confused about the procedure. I was planning on using 800x600 for the photos but then got confused.
The instructions say to use a small file under 100k but then also talk about a 2"x2" size??
What resolution are you using? Does it need to be cropped to a square file?
Thanks Greg

We are using it, but don't take pictures. I do know they need to be a small file We just scan a picture in from a drivers license or other picture, crop them as we wish and put them in. Pretty simple.

I don't want to use the disc space or what ever you'd call it. It would just take my backups longer to do and they would take up more space. There are few patients I can't "picture" in my mind when I hear their names.

I love the patient photo option. I bought a little digital camera early on, and set it to a 'postcard' setting, which is low resolution and fine for the little chart pictures. I trained the receptionist to crop the picture and then attach to the file. I really like seeing the picture on the chart - it makes the chart so much more personable. The biggest problem is getting my receptionist to remember to take the pics.

We have a Microsoft LifeCam VX3000 sitting on top of the monitor of one of the vitals computers. It is set at the lowest resolution. Every new and established patient gets their picture taken - they just stand in a marked tile and look at the camera after they get off the scale. We also use the same camera to take pictures of suture progress, rashes, etc. Takes 10 seconds at most.
