Dragon 10.1 is the first upgrade, free to 10.0 users. You have to call Nuance with your 10.0 disk code to get it. The are several useful bug fixes and improved recognition, as well as 64 bit support.

Will Dragon Medical run on two different computers - ie home and office. Does i come with more than one license?

Can more than one user use it at office?

Has anyone had a good experience using windows 7 speech recognition, and if so - any tips that make it work well.

i am using the vista version and a microphone from knowbrainer. It works very well and I downloaded the speech toolkit from emicrophones.I can dictate directly into AC and I can set up macros using the speech toolkit. There is a dictionary that you can enter medical terms that also works well. I you want to save $1500 dollors this is the way to go.

Thanks Art.

How would you rate how much the speech recognition helps you with your charting efficiency using a 1-10 scale where 10 = A LOT.

What microphone did you get and does it work well for you.
(there are so many for all kinds of prices.)

Thanks for that.

What kind of microphone do you use.

And the accuracy, are you pleased with it.

I use the standard Knowbrainer headphone microphone which has worked out fine. The emicrophone speech toolkit set up my microphone setting and I have been pleased the performance.

at the knowbrainer site, microphones cost between 25 - 500 dollars. Do you use the high low or medium range mic.

I use the 50 dollar microphone. works fine. The only problem I encountered was making my macros. For some reason you have to enter a certificate in the software before saving any macros you make. I finally found an explanation on how to use it on google and now I have no problem

I use a sennheiser 835S and table mount it, look like a radio guy when dictating at my desk; in my experience any reasonable noise cancelling microphone works well

I have been using Dragon since version 1.0. I now have 10.1. Currently. I use a labtec C316 mic, that I bought at office depot, and it works very well.
