In the quantity, you can put 30, 60, 90. But not 45 or 90.
Do you have to put gram amount or cc amount on the comment? If I put 100 or 45, or 90, it will ask me to put correct amount.

Can't you just type "45" in the quantity? Don't put units, the prescription writer will reject as an error.

First, you can put any whole number (no decimal) in the quanity, e.g. 17, 45, 90. In fact, you wrote above that you can write for 90, but you can't write for 90. In 5.0.28 and 5.0.29 you can not add the units such as grams, tablets, cc, mLs, etc. As far as whether you have to write grams or cc in the comments section, you do not in order to make the script valid. Whether you do depends on your pharmacy. Most pharmacies (especially when they get used to scripts coming from you) will understand that 150 = 150mL if you write for Cefzil suspension and that 6 = 6 tablets if you write for Z-pack. There is no reason it should not take 100, 45 or 90. Make sure you do not have a space after it. For instance, if you type 90 grams, but then realize you can't write grams and then back space over grams but leave 90_ where underscore = a blank space, then it won't work. If you read this site: http://amazingcharts.com/support/i-want-to-help-myself/current-beta-version/ it will tell you what to expect it 5.1.6, which will allow you to use units. Please tell us more about your issues with 30 working where 45 won't. I write for that all the time.

I just have avoided using the eScripts for months on certain patients that needed topicals, and faxed instead. Now I appreciate the idea of putting it in the comment line - however a fix will be nice.

It's supposed to be fixed in 5.1.6.

When I am writing a script for something that is grams or an MDI or anything that won't go electronically, I simply write 15 or 30 or 45 and leave the grams or ml or whatever off. The pharmacy seems to know that the cream quantity isn't in pills. It is grams. Same with MDI's. I just write 1 or 3 or whatever on advair. I just leave MDI or disc off. They go through without a problem. Until it gets fixed.

I'm not having this issue either, by simply putting 15, 30, 45, 60, or 100 (without gms) the pharmacies here have no problem determining that I MEANT grams. And they dispense the correct amount.

I understand that you can simply leave off the units, as Nancy and Adam suggest. I think it is ironic (and a little dangerous) that we switch to EMR/eprescribing which is supposed to reduce errors, and are forced to be ambiguous in prescribing these medications.

5.1.5 and above now let you put units including ml, gm, etc.
