Is anyone using ultrasound in their practice and uploading the pictures into amazing charts?

Is it easy? What ultrasound machine are you using?

Yes, I have a GE Logique 400. The ultrasound hard copies are scanned into the chart and in the Imported Items folder. They are very high quality images and do not ( of course) deteriorate over time like the paper copies do. I think there is a way to get software that uploads digital information directly into an EMR, when I looked into it the cost was a few thousand and was not worth it to my practice.

Is it possible to print to an external printer with your equipment? If so, the way I do it with endoscopy is to print using CutePDF, saving to a thumb drive, then importing.

I guess for Dr. Lehmann, why aren't you just using the saved images and in AC there is a pictures tab where you do hte physical exam that you can upload images to? Have you tried this, was this too big an image to import?

You wouldn't need seperate software for this as I think the GE's have a hard drive and you should be able to save to a flash drive and then plug that into your computer/laptop/workstation and uplaod from there directly.

But with GE I tihnk you need a dicom viewer/decoder, maybe that is what you are tlaking about for the thousands of dollars?
