Is scanning charts and faxes, or sending out patient records via fax costing you money and time?
We have managed to use an off-shore facility who are very familiar with AC to do all of our scans attachments into patient charts under Imported Items, or fax out patients records instead of using our staff. They are very efficient, fluent with AC and they are a fraction of the cost. If you have charts or incoming faxes that need to be entered into patients charts, or want someone else to fax the patients records right from AC without printing them and manually faxing them, give me a call or send me an email, I will tell you all about them and start saving money from day one. We have been using them for three years and they saved me a bundle. You can reach me at stoloui@cox.net or just call me at 480-213-9951 (Arizona Time).

Shawn,

Are you an AC user or a vendor advertising and selling this product? If you are a vendor, then you would need to post in the vendor section. I apologize if you are an AC user trying to be helpful.

Nothing can be cheaper & more secure than having your own fax line and receiving your faxes in PDF.
That way you avoid printing any faxes.
Even the forms that need filled and signed are done by Adobe or any form filler you choose.
There might be huge medicolegal implications as far as I am concerned with patient privacy issues.
Moreover AC makes it so easy to print progress notes or the entire chart as a PDF by choosing the PRINT PREVIEW button and saving them as PDF files.
You can then fax anything you need via your networked fax machine
These are just my thoughts and how I function in my office

In response to questions above, yes we are an AC user, for the past 3 years and we love it. I am just trying to introduce another option and help. We are a busy practice and always look for efficiency and cutting costs. Payroll has been a big expense. Having employees to do the daily tasks of attaching incoming faxes or faxing records out, took some time however you look at it, and pushed some folks into overtime hour. When we started with AC 3 years ago, we were also scanning relevant portion of charts as patients came in and cataloging it in the Imported Items. By outsourcing it and having a dedicated team to worry about it, not only saved us money it was efficient.

Shawn,

Thanks for clearing things up. You have to admit your first post sounds a lot like an advertisement. Offshore? That sure beats outsourcing your billing. I looked at your previous posts, and they seemed like anything but a vendor.

But, there was no name to this company. No website. Just kind of out of the blue. Why can't we just have the name, address, phone number or website of this company? And, I think it would be interesting if you gave more details. How can a company off shore fax your records. And, are they HIPAA compliant? Do you patients know that a 3rd party is privy to their records? Sure, there are times when that is the case, but this just seems extreme.

A lot of us fax from our computers, and it only takes a few clicks. So I am confused as to how they can be cheaper. If you get a request to send records today, do they do it?

Thanks.
