In V4, the demographics page clearly showed the referring provider. In V5, after going to the demos screen, you can find this information by clicking on the "referrals and consultants" tab. Any way to get the name of the referrer more quickly? Can you keep this tab on top? The "default" tab seems to be "alerts and directives", but that box is usually blank for us. We want to keep those referring docs happy by sending copies of notes, so for each patient I click the extra tab to find who referred the patient. Not a big deal, but another minor change from V5 to V4 that I find annoying....unless someone can show me an easier way.

Jon:
not sure how to do it, I hope someone lists an asnwer but until then, what I have my staff member ( i only have one so it is me and her) do is when she checks in a patient and puts in vitals, she clicks on that and writes the name of the PCP at the top of the HPI even for the follow ups.

Yes, I basically do the same thing. I have gotten in the habit of putting "cc: Dr. Referrer" at the end of the "Plan" section of the note so I can see that when the patient returns for the next encounter.
