In our practice, we have two phone booklets that have all of the contact information to either our service agents or health insurance companies as well as God knows what. The problem is that they're getting real old and worn out and I was wondering if Amazing Charts has some feature embedded into it that resembles a big contact organizer. Does it? If so, where can I find it?

There is a rolodex feature on the main AC screen - View - Practice Rolodex.
Otherwise I would scan it and save it on server (which is backed up) and then put a link to it on everyone's desktop in the clinic where you can just pull up notebook and look at it....simple solution.

I was looking for the same thing, we have 3 large rolodexes on the counter(s) for not only physicians and pharmacies but the insurances, vendors, suppliers, med-surg on tower 2, day surgery, the sandwich shop down the street, etc. It would be great to have that accesible from all work stations but the rolodex looked to me like it will only store contact info for "providers". Does anybody use the rolodex to store more general contact information? Yes a separate directory on the server with a shortcut on the workstation desktops would work.

We use the Rolodex for everything. We mark doctors/providers as "Referring Providers" and everyone else as "Consultants" (ex. payroll service, lab reps, etc).
The only thing I don't like about the Rolodex is that you can't search by Specialty. Sometimes we can't remember somebody's name but we can remember what they do. I wind up having to export the Rolodex to excel and then do a filter to search by specialty.

I don't see the "Practice Rolodex" in the View Menu. How do I make it appear?

Underneath the "Patient List", where you see your list of patients, are 5 icons (an open file, printer, binoculars, a red X) with downward arrows between them. If you click the arrow next to the left hand icon-I am never sure what to call it- you can add a new patient or see the practice rolodex.

It is a cartoon of a rolodex, the old fashioned kind like the ones on the counters in my office!

Anyone figure out a better way to get all the referring physicians into the list then just adding them one by one. And my one staff member (yes up until 1 month ago, it was just me, now i have one) added a bunch and they were disappeared! anyone else have this issue with the rolodex?
I hvae been asking the support staff why we can upload a patient list and all that but not a physician list.
It doesn't make sense to haev to add one physician at a time when it is so handy to get excel lists from the hospitals these days.

I agree that a means of adding a contacts list should be a snap to add to the program, but sadly, it is just not there. We hired a data entry person for a couple of evenings to input stuff like that and the fax directory into the network fax server.

David:
If i remember correctly you use Updox, you could just upload an excel file for the updox address book. There was an issue however as if you put in the business name (name of practice)in updox, when you searched dr. john doe by typing in john or doe, you got all the practices that would have john or doe in it. They are changing that and releasing the new code tonight..Hopefully it will work!

Hello!
I'm a new user (trying to help my husband's clinic make better use of AC). I was looking for information on importing a list of rolodex contacts into the list. Have there been any changes to this since the 2010 discussion?
Thanks, Lynn
