Can anyone help with this? I am fee for service, give my patients a receipt that they submit to their insurer. Some companies have refused to pay because my receipt didn't have a tax id #. For that matter, there is no license number or NPI number there either. Is there any way these elements can be added once so they then appear on every receipt?

Second issue is that when I try to print the 1500 form, it also doesn't include the EIN and shows a balance due even though the patient has already paid. Seems crazy to have to fill in the missing or erroneous fields by hand every time a 1500 is printed. Any suggestions?

Search the boards about NPI number, seems to me someone put them in an unexpected place to get them to show up on the receipt.

Not sure about the EIN, it should show up. You may need to talk to AC central about that.

Are the payments put into the superbill before you print? That may be one reason why the payments are not showing.

Yeah - just got off the phone with support and there is NO WAY to have you license#, NPI# or EIN # appear on the superbill unless you add a "billing note" to the superbill, EVERY time you issue a receipt. Boy, I think my days with AC are numbered now.

I do not print receipts and think PM early next year may be solution, but self inking stamp with name, ein, nip and whatever else you want like "Paid at time of service" or whatever might be nice and cost less than $15.

As an aside I hate giving all of above info out--- in our society and worry about I'd theft, etc. I think it is ridiculous for us to have to put everything. I love some forms that want my ss number

Go into your "Practice Information" in "Administrative Options". For your practice address, on the first line put "EIN #xx-xxxxxxx". On the second line, put your street address. Your EIN will print under your name on the superbill. If you choose, you could probably fit your NPI on the same line.

As to security...I agree that we should protect our social security numbers. I believe that your tax ID is actually public information, so while you may not want to broadcast it, it isn't exactly a secret, either.

Perhaps a suggestion to the AC programmers would be to add an additional blank line to the practice info field (either under the practice name or at the end of the address) simply entitled "other heading". This would allow people to add one or more of these numbers, or whatever else was mandated by the insurance gods, or chosen by the practitioner for the superbill, note, letters, etc.

I am a fee for service practice as well. I have a "superbill" that is two part carbon copy.. One sheet is white and the other yellow. It has the NPI, EIN, etc.. I give them the white copy to submit and keep the yellow for my records.. It is not computer printed but works well... It is hard to describe but would be happy to send you a copy if you like..

thanks folks. I guess I will add the NPI # but that is only one field. Ins companies have written asking for more than that one item. I may just get a stamp that has that info on it. This is very simple stuff - I think the programmers should have thought of this. To refuse to fix it is also just stupid, just add one blank line to the format!!

JBS - thanks. I just tried it and was able to fit all three items. Looks totally weird but works. I just took a small sip of Kool-Aide, not bad.
