We are wanting to block off certain appt types for certain times of the day. We are not sure how to do it. Like we are wanting consults blocked off from 8am to 10am on every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. How do you do this?

I don't believe there is any way to do this or a workaround.. will just have to train staff to remember. One option is you can manually block these off with a placeholder like pt. name consult, new and then add, but looks dorky.

You can block out large blocks of time quickly by:

1) clikcking on the provider name (at the top of the column)
2) highlighting a block of time on the rows (click start shift(and hold) click end)
3) upper L corner is a button to block the period and
4) box pops up to label
They are then blocked in green

While you cannot block out recurring times automatically, your staff can fairly quickly block out months of recurring time slots in a few minutes.

If I understand you correctly, you do not want to make it so no appointments can be made for certain times but rather to save appointment times for specific types of appointments. You can do the first as described by Wendell but the only way to do the latter is to teach your staff, the same way you have to teach them that a complete exam requires an hour while a sore throat is only 15 minutes.
